I'm talking about thunderclap headaches here. also known as "Orgasm headaches" They mostly affect men, including me occasionally. Just as you are getting ready to orgasm, BAMMMM!!!. Excruciating pounding headache that lasts 15 min or so.

Has anyone else had experience with them and what did you do?

No, but I sometimes get leg cramps at inappropriate times.

Steven, that's why you look for a sub who can give massages, there is no inappropriate time for them, lol.

As for the orgasm headaches, have you guys checked your bp lately? I had those right behind the eyeball gee I cam too hard h/a until I lowered by bp some.

Thunderclap headaches and orgasm headaches are two different things but any sudden onset, severe headache should be thoroughly investigated as they may be a sign of something very serious going on such as an aneurism or brain bleed.

Mayo Clinic

Ohio Health - Thunderclap headaches

Info Med - Sudden Headaches

Wiki - Thunderclap Headaches

Hmm, I've always found sex the best cure FOR headaches, not the cause...or maybe i just find sex the cure for most things? OP, you should discuss this with your doctor, and like the furry thing in a dress said, get your bp checked.

My BP is about normal.  The first time it ever happened was when I was in HS.  (I was in the weight room, not in the sack) and at the time, My resting BP and heart rate was about 90/55 and 42 respectively.  They hit about every 10 years or so, hang around for a coupla weeks (just long enough to get gunshy about cumming) and then disappear back to wherever they came from.

When your slave's ankles are up by her ears and you're enjoying her to the fullest, don't matter how good she is at a massage, that is going to be an inappropriate time for a charlie horse.

I get lots of foot cramps, although my leg cramping has not been bad in years, not since I was carrying my children (who are all grown now).
For some reason this seems to be related to a calcium and iron deficiency I had at the time, and now as long as I remember to take my damn vitamins and have enough dairy, I'm more or less good.
The feet thing: I am studying reflexology not just for my own sake, but for the across-the-board benefits to myself as well as others. It makes a difference.
In short, it's all about good maintenance, IMO..

Never had a head ache during, and actually have never heard of these before with any of my partners.  I almost dislocated one of my legs from my hip though, during some very strenuous fun time with yoga moves that were not meant for such a thing ... after a few minutes of recovery we picked though.  It was much funnier after wards.  Not so much when I thought I had crippled myself with sex.  How are you supposed to tell you mother that?

Those are just vicious headaches.  They are the only ones that ever made me just writhe with pain, and sometimes scared me.

Generally you get a CT or MRI to rule out an aneurysm.  I had an MRI, and was put on indomethacin for 90 days.  They went away for another another year, and when they came back indomethacin made them worse; I was put on a calcium channel blocker for about 6 months after that.  I've only had a faint echo from time to time, but I'm on a calcium channel blocker again (for something else) so I don't know if they are gone for good.
