So anyone can just make a huge number of witless posts and earn meaningless emblems.
Might be more interesting to have a list of emblems to choose from at the bottom of someones post. Those that read it could choose an emblem that represents how they feel about the value of the post.
I imagine something like a little character with it's head up it's ass at one end of the list. Maybe a nice whip at the other end. Various things in between, each labeled with an opinion of what the post was to you.
The poster would have the emblem that readers most often pick, prominently displayed beneath their nic.

It has been stated (by admin Terminatoreleven) that such a person is called a post whore and will be punished emblemically. [;)]

Your grading suggestion is interesting, but I suspect that others have also proposed such a thing and that it was concluded to be impractical. Or do you know of any forum example that implements such grading?

Oh, bitch, bitch, whine, whine, moan, moan

SURELY, your time and energies are more valuable than this post.

LOL... i've often actually just watched some guys... and gals.. in Lowes... and Home Depot... seeing if they're in there for reasons of fixing something... or making something.. and have to smile... when I see a gleam in their eyes.. makes me wonder if they just had a fantasy or not... LOL

Several of my friends refer to it habitually as Dom/me Depot.

Dollar stores can also be a good source of stingy little kitchen implements.

I do have a job ... which is partly why I don't have time to argue with you. Last post for you, dude. Have a good life.

Now the poor boy will never get his truck.
By the way, a true Martini;
The key ingredient is unsurprisingly Bombay Sapphire Gin. Also, it is well worth noting that a fine martini glass is required for maximum enjoyment. A very thin rim is preferred.
First off, fill your cocktail shaker (glass never metal) with crushed ice.
Second, place two jiggers of Bombay sapphire Gin into the shaker.
Third, shake vigorously, until frost forms on the shaker. This breaks up the ice creating a somewhat slushy mixture which is your first key, and also fully releases the botanicals, which is your second key.
Fourth, put 3 to 4 drops of Martini & Rossi Extra Dry Vermouth into the gin glass. Gently swirl the martini glass to coat the entire inside of the glass with vermouth (much like you would with wine to see its "legs").
Fifth, give the gin a few more good shakes, then using the filter, pour it into the martini glass, it should come to about 1-2mm below the rim. A pleasant release of botanicals, smelling somewhat like fresh pine needles, should fill your senses. After a few seconds a layer of ice should form on the surface of the martini.
Sixth, drop a couple of Spanish Queen Olives into the martini.
Perfect.

Actually, having ran several websites and doing the work involved, they do a pretty good job here. For those who would do it differently, you can always start your own site. I think you will find that what they have put together is quite nice.

Or a couple of tiny pickled onions for a Gibson for those less fond of olives.

Your emblem is based on the number of posts you make. The more you make, the nastier you get. ;)

Yes, that's how it's done, and it's stupid. If you want to know how prolific a poster somebody is, you can check through their profile. And really, who gives a shit anyway? Quantity has very little correlation with quality.

Dnomyar -> RE: Emblem by our names (11/2/2007 9:42:02 AM)

Obi Wan Knobi?? Hey LA could you push your hair back a little more. With all of the answers that you give I should have made that connection long ago.
