Which would be what? Being not personally accountable to anyone but the moderator team?

The truest solution is to have a moderator who is NOT a board user. I have a friend who does that on Beliefnet---for money, though!

Well, I was teasing. However, since it wasn't me he found fault in (far as I know) and I was the one who posted it, I think your reference is a bit off.

Egos are pretty gender neutral, really. I don't think there's any reason to qualify the 'ego'.
