Why does the female always have to make nice?

Why are generalizations so easy to refute? And why do you make so many of them?

Icarys, I agree, most of the posts haven't been concise. This thread contains badly presented logical arguments and assumptions about groups of unknown people based on sentiments.

However, you've often restated others' arguments before addressing them, analyzed their presentation and made comments about your own thought process. The need to control the format of this discussion may be distracting your readers from your actual viewpoints.

[Takes off serious hat]
Poise, that wasn't very rude at all - roll-eyes, at best.

Simpler isn't needed..smaller would be nice.
I guess it was the idea that you brought someone else into the mix and you guys had a laugh together that felt dirty to me.
The problem with fences is that they tend to keep you hidden..What's wrong with crying?
Your essentially trading one hurt for another one of a different kind instead of dealing with why some stranger can hurt your feelings.

In order to make what I say smaller, I must simplify, because I always try to get across as much as I can so that people don't misunderstand me.

I brought Master into the mix because he looks over my shoulder at almost everything I do, so yes, I'm going to share with him what I find funny or hurtful. It's impossible NOT to bring him into everything I do. I don't open my emails for just anyone to read, and even when I shared it here, I made sure there was no evidence that someone could point to a certain person and say, "That's the guy who wrote it!"

I've cried more than enough throughout my life and am tired of crying. I am a very emotional person, I tend to take things that people say with weight, no matter who they are, until they show me that their arguments are weightless. I am very sensitive, something that I will freely admit that I need to work on, and have been working on, but I don't have very tough skin - things that people say can and will hurt me.

So until I fix the problem of being sensitive to the words of people in general (stranger and friend alike) I am going to laugh to keep myself from crying.

Sorry if I wrote too much again, just trying to get my point across.

Wait....are you referring to the guy who wrote her on an "owned, happily in an LTR, seeking friends only" profile with an explicit suggestion involving shit, piss, bestiality, prostitution and child molestation?

Sorry, bub.  Anyone who sexually solicits a total stranger for disgusting and illegal acts has no reasonable expectation of privacy, not even the expectation that she won't call the cops.  This goes double if her profile clearly says "friends only, these acts are hard limits, happily in a relationship".  There is no reason to say that he deserves any kind of consideration from her.  He doesn't.

Laughing at his sorry ass is a pretty mild response, and probably the best way to handle such things without ending up feeling really angry or afraid or disgusted enough to leave the site entirely.

Make up your mind, Icarys.  You snark and whinge if someone says that getting mail like this annoys them, and now you're snarking because someone  is laughing them off.   I don't think there's really a better way to deal with the fact that as a woman on an adult site, the majority of people emailing you will ignore everything you say, and some of them are creepy, explicit, aggressively sexual, and occasionally insulting or even threatening.  You can either get a good giggle from it, or you can be really annoyed or angry or depressed by it.  Might as well get a good giggle, at least until even that gets old.

So why cant men stop being jerks? How about we stop being bitter, when we get treated with more respect?

Why does the female always have to make nice?

I don't know but I'd consider making sexist comments like such pretty rude and jerk-ish.

I dont think its sexist if its my expreince with the class of online e-mails I get from men.

At a post above,I said "SOME men", not all men.

I find this to be an experience that women face. Eveytime the issue about the degradation of women comes up, instead of being treated like its a real issue, its minimized and not confronted. Why is that?

Why doesnt anyone confront the truth in the generalization?

Exactly, Lady.

And I'm apparently even milder than what you say, since the only person that I "had a laugh over it with" was Master, who knows everything about me and what I do - thus it'd be rather hard for me to just have a completely private laugh without sharing it with him.

I think that's essentially what some are doing by closing down profiles or refusing to answer emails.

Thinking of it from a standpoint of trying to find a mate..This site would suck sincerely if this caught on as the proper way to handle the situation. Hell it's hard enough finding compatible mates as it is for most people. At least that's what i hear all the time.

I've yet to close my profile and I answer almost every rational email I get. I remain open minded to the sanity and sincerity of those that contact me until they prove to be putzes. None of those things requires me to become emotionally invested in nutcases. It is quite simple, until someone gives me a solid reason to engage my emotions, I don't.

I can laugh, exchange pleasantries, have fun, learn, get to know new and interesting people, people I might even want to meet in person. But until I reach a certain point of trusting that person with my emotions, they are not getting anywhere near them. If no one is willing to do the time to get my trust, then it's their problem, not mine.

In case you haven't noticed..There are often many conversations with many different people going on at the same time with me..

One person is talking to me about the test, another:How she deals with her hurt and yet another: Why are men such jerks and I don't think you're any different.

This happens all the time with me..Usually I address one person and then 5 others are asking something as well.

I do my best to get my points across and try to stay focused.  :>

She's talking about me, and the email that I received that you have proceeded to call me petty because I laughed about it.

..especially when I see bullshit like she said.

But it's not bullshit.  It's the number one reason why most women who come here have burnout...or choose to hide their profile.

quote:

ORIGINAL: LadyNTrainer

You do want to make friends in your new town, so you start talking with people about stuff you're interested in.  Sports, hiking, news and politics, your favorite hobby, etc.  Whatever actually does interest you.  But almost every single time you try to start a conversation, the guy talking to you totally ignores everything you actually said and propositions you.  Generally he does it in a way that makes it clear that he was not listening to a word you said.  You might have even been talking about how much you love your wife, but the first thing out of his mouth after you finish talking is, "Hi, are you single? I'm single, and I'm interested."  Or you might have been talking about your experiences in Alcoholics Anonymous, but when you get done talking, he asks if you guys can go to a bar for a drink and to get to know each other better.

It is nearly impossible to have a normal human conversation with any of these people you try to relate to.  They ignore everything you say and any overtures of friendship, but they keep trying to talk to you solely for the purpose of getting sex or kinky play.  Nobody wants to talk to you as a person or cares what you have to say.  They ignore everything you actually say, but they ask if you want to date them or have sex with them.  Many of them are not all that explicit in their propositions, but some of them are, and a few get really aggressive and angry when you say no.

Years of this go by, and this is the standard treatment you get from almost everyone in this town you try to communicate with socially. After awhile, how do you think this would impact you?

This is so true.  And yes, it impacts me; I burn out on an average of every 2-3 months.  Being treated as a non person by hundreds for every one person who sees me as a human being gets very old.  It's a bone weariness that kicks into effect after a while.

It's like...going to a ballroom expecting to dance...but each smiling male who approaches asks for a quick f*** and beating in the back room instead of a dance.  Complete with dick pix and butthole shots with dildos stuck inside to entice me.

Ah...here comes my next dance partner.
"Ma'am, wanna f*** my hot tight virgin arse???  The closet is over here...btw, my name is tom, dick, or harry."
Then comes the evil attitude, or cold silence when I say no.

Sometimes I wish...when woman are told to just suck it up they would disappear for a month.  Preferably en masse.  Oh wait, that's what many have already done.

I keep bringing more r/t submissive female friends here and they keep leaving because they refuse to suck it up.

I surely don't remember any of that stuff in there..Where is that..I went to look for it.

I still don't find any of that funny..Some of that definitely isn't my thing but it's subjective as far as I'm concerned except the 3 last things.

I wouldn't laugh if he got arrested for that. I'd find it somewhat sad and comforting that he was off the streets so he didn't hurt someone

It was my first post in this topic. Post #250

It was a long one, you might have ignored it due to that fact. But in it is the post that I laughed about and the reasons for WHY I was laughing, and why many women would be burnt out about it.

Edited to add:

It was back a few posts when you castigated Wolfy for laughing at the guy who said he was going to shit on her, have her fuck animals and prostitute her minor child for money.  Cause, you know, we ladies are always overreacting that way.

I don't ask that you find it funny, but I didn't ask you to chastise me for being amused by his words myself to keep myself from being hurt, or appalled, or scared, or whatever, either.
