A large amount of literature seems to be devoted to this man worships female foot thing. I'm just curios as to if this is a submissive wants to serve that way, or a mistress wants to be served that way.

It depends and I am not one of those feet kind of guys. But when it hits me for some reason then wow, I cannot keep my eyes off that one Dommes feet.. But it does not happen all the time so I have no idea what's with that.

It's both, but even in saying that, a lot of it is driven by the fact that feet are a fetish for many males.

Basically, if you're "seeing" the subject coming up a lot via porn or erotica, that's usually male driven. (Fetish topics sell, period and it's males who are the primary force in profits in such areas.)

From what I've seen, there are more males with this particular kink as a sexual fetish than females. There are some women, like Me, who are sexually excited by foot worship. Others see it as just appreciating a foot rub, but it doesn't do anything for them sexually. Others still can't stand to have their feet worshiped at all. None of that is going to sell a product.

The prospect I'm courting never had an interest in feet at all until the concept of being at Mine occurred to him. Truthfully, mostly my own. I gotta thing about my feet being soft and looking nice.

As a fetish, no. But I found Iholdthestring's comment about symbolism an interesting way of seeing it.
