Jade. Your description of the "involuntary Roman shower" had me cracking up.

Thanks for brightening My morning.

Could you pm me this information of the tea ceremony, sunshinemiss? i have tried to look it up online, and all i can find are ads for books. i'd love to buy a book, but i am, alas, but a poor college student, with no money to spend on anything besides ramen.

I don't know about the Tea Ceremony in Korea, but you can look up: Tea Ceremony Wabi Sabi

If you really take the time to learn the philosphy behind a tea ceremony, it can open your eyes to the aesthetic beauty of many other different types of ritualized service, such as washing your Master's feet.

I like the concept of Wabi Sabi - and the belief that there is beauty in imperfection.

ETA: you can also reference Wa Kei Sei Jaku for more information on the philosophy behind some tea ceremonies.

If your Master enjoys costumes, may I suggest making a costume for him rather than buying one? My Master was struck nearly speechless with pride when I created a costume for him. It was my love and the desire to please him that prompted me to put 40+ hours into creating this costume for him, and it spoke so highly to him of my devotion. He also thoroughly enjoyed making use of me IN the costume and testing the strength of the various accoutrements of said costume.

Korea! Lemme guess, serving grunt? [:D]

not at all. one shouldn't assume. sunshine, btw, is a sweet sunny miss with a sharp bite to her (as in hot peppers). i'd offer to be her protector *scowls in your direction* but she's more than capable of looking after her self.

I am always open to having an angel on my side.  Hope I always warrant that level of loyalty.  *smoochies.

OF COURSE I didn't mean she was the grunt, any fool can tell I was referring to her husband.

...And you would seriously subject other people to your kink?  When I'm at Starbucks, I sure don't want to see some fool kneeling and looking at the floor while I'm having my cup of java.  Neither does my mother, or my friend, or the Starbucks personnel.

Have a problem with presumptions there, don't you?

No I don't. You do. You presume I'm going to give a flying fuck what a bunch of housewives think.

Maybe she presumed You had common courtesy and respect for other people's feelings. You're correct, though. She was wrong to presume that.

Master and i planted some beautiful rosebushes this weekend! The roses are orange with red petal tips, and i hope they bloom well in spring. He also whipped/scratched me with a trimmed branch full of thorns! It was deliciously painful, and His aftercare was so sweet.

i
obviously am not a fool.

again, you assume much and know little. sunshine isn't married, foolish men do not treasure her as she deserves to be.

And obviously you also don't mind being banned from multiple venues in your town and get a reputation that will impact you forever.

He is interested in the tea ceremony. Does this mean how geishas would serve tea? Roman showers, are, unfortunately common, because my hot water heater absolutely hates me. i'd enjoy it if it were Master's idea, but not as a sudden, shampoo-blinded, slip-and-fall sort of event. Thank Y/you all so much!

Tea ceremony usually is Japanese. But it could also be a British full tea meal. Little finger sandwiches and so on. You need to ask him which.

As for the hot water heater, I would suggest a plumber.

I must give pause here.  XJ you say that you are broke and cannot afford to buy books, since you are at university........

Ummmmmmmmm. Unless you are matriculating from some minor seat of learning such as Tallahassee JuCo, you might want to investigate whether or not your Uni has a thing called a 'library' and whether or not they let students 'check-out' books. Ordering what you need from the Uni system they belong to if the book is not close at hand.

It isn't costly, here in the US we have what is called 'public libraries' and we can 'check-out' books for free.
http://www.amazon.com/Japanese-Tea-Ceremony-Cha-No-Yu-Classics/dp/4805309148/ref=sr_1_5?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1291734836&sr=1-5  sorta like this, find what you need wherever (amazon is the first place I go), and then go to library.

LOLOLOLOL.  C'mon, kid...you gotta wanna (thats where it starts for you)

The best Ebooks at the best price: FREE!

I believe there's at least one book on tea and tea service/preparation to be found on the above link. It's amazing what you can find when you put your mind, not to mention your nimble fingers, to it. [;)]

Also, Specific resources for Service was a great thread full of all kinds of helpful links. All it takes is a simple search.

Enjoy!

oooo a formal tea! Now there is a truly masochistic undertaking!

I do think that learning about the subtle nuances of a ritual like a Tea Ceremony can open the mind to appreciating the simple rituals of daily service.

Just think how beautiful the cock sucking ceremony can become, with the right philosophy. Just saying...

PS - I hope you kept the rose stem! Let it dry and put a pretty bow on it, then place it somewhere special to remind you of the experience.

Thank Y/you all so much for links to books and for Y/your suggestions! i go to CSUN, and while the library there is awesome, it is also staffed by people who are less computer literate than me. (Which is really bad, considering the whole stupid library is automated.) The libraries around me all have been filled with lame VHS tapes and DVDs, nary a book in sight, besides Twilight. (No! i demand sexy Gary Oldman as Dracula!) i definitely kept the rose branch, it's hanging from the garden fence, for further use and for decoration. The British tea ceremony would be fun, and i have to learn the Japanese one too, most likely, because Master does computer work and will be working with the Japanese when W/we move to Hawaii.

Hi jade,

You're welcome for the links. Here's another (if I have the right CSUN )... Oviatt Library

They seem to have quite a few books listed on Japanese tea ceremony ideas/customs/history. Nimble fingers...[;)][:D]

I hope you and your master have a wonderful time with all the different ways you can serve.

I went online to the CSUN's Oviatt library, entered Japanese tea ceremony as the keyword and up popped 17 books which they have. You aren't trying to find anything, instead you want to be spoon fed. That's lazy and we aren't required to cater to it.
