You mean the slimy mountain yam, yamaimo? Hells yes, with a raw egg on top, over fresh steaming hot rice. It looks like a handful of boogers but I think it's yummy especially with some furikake sprinkled on top. Stewed kabocha squash (a sort of pumpkin) with seaweed, soy sauce and brown sugar?

kabocha is also available in Morocco and used to top many a couscous. I am not sure I'd like it this way --------------------- Chinese tomato and egg soup. This is a water based soup and I have never found it available outside of China, unless one has a recipe and makes at home.

I happen to be an odd person who loves fruitcake and who also invented a ''non-fruitcake fruitcake'' containing no peels or citron and not a lot of dried fruits for those like my father who do not like fruitcake in the slightest. I do not care for one long soaked with alcohol though. I like the buttery almost no cake ones with tons of nuts. So yes to fruitcake ---------------------------- pan toasted hot and sweet spiced pecans

EG if I didn't know better I would say you were crazy! Yes to the pecans BTW. Chestnuts roasted on an open fire? OK I know but its getting close to Christmas and I couldn't resist.
