I used to lie awake and contemplate murder, with the rationale being no sensible judge would convict me  - and if i got a non-sensible judge - at least i would 't have to sleep with the ex. I would list the ways i was going to murder him. Unfortunately, i was too tired to try to undertake them.

He eventually had to have a sleep study and get a cpap machine.

and my sweetie uses a cpap - with the nasal thinges. It works really well - and he isn't going to develop pulmonary hypertension and die!

Master snores so loud sometimes I have dreams that a bear is attacking me....

Luckily most of the times I can sleep through it (thank godness for deep sleepers) but when its really bad I pull out my secret stash of earplugs

What do you do?

Find a partner who snores like a freight train. The fun is trying to be the one who falls asleep first!

I can't recall ever seeing horrendous snoring as a hard limit. But then again...we all have different tolerance levels.

I think it would be for me. I realize that probably just sounds terrible, but my ex husband snored so terribly that snoring actually gives me the shakes now. I spent a year of my life, living on 2-3 hours of sleep a day. I just can't tolerate the sound of it any more. :(

Seems like it's ALWAYS the freight train, though!

Master and I both snore loudly. He usually falls asleep first, but luckily, he usually doesn't start snoring right away, so I have time to fall asleep. Once we're asleep, we don't often wake one another up with snoring. Being with a snorer is easier when you both sleep deep.

I think being used to snoring is one of the best ways to deal with it. I've had ex's tell me I snore terribly, and others that say I'm not so bad. It was usually dependent on how much snoring they were generally used to in their own lives. It seems worse if it's a new thing.

I snore, sometimes not much at all, and other times, disturbingly so.    I will usually hear myself, and reposition me.   I do foresee Domme/sub sleep quarters in the future, if needed.    M

This thing. I use one, it works. No more snoring , no more waking up in a foul mood with a headache from oxygen deprivation.

Sleep apnea is serious business, it sneaks up on you. You think it just a bit of snoring, no biggie and the next thing you know your asleep while driving home and wake up doing 100 in the grass on the side of the road. Thats what happened to me.

Its one of the most expensive small pieces of silicone I've bought but has been worth every cent.

My family learnt the buteyko method when i was younger because I had numerous ENT/asthma problems and the parents thought it could help. Along with teaching me and my family about breathing through the nose (sounds weird but it works, a lot of people breathe predominantly through their mouth without realising) one of the techniques used by them is sleeping with paper medical tape closing your mouth. It encourages breathing through your nose during sleep and can reduce snoring.
My parents both snore like truckdrivers and it does help, I have to say it doesn't eleminate it but it does help. It does take a while to get used to and I stopped using it requarly years ago but when I get sick I sometimes use it to help clear my nose/sinuses still, and I find it also helps stop my mouth/throat hurting which could be attributed to snoring badly with my mouth goldfish wide open.
Sounds weird but trying doesn't hurt. Just a strip from the bottom of your nose to below your mouth.

Edited for punctuation/grammar and to add:
Make a conscious effort to constantly breathe (at least predominantly) through your nose
Ensure your nasal passages/sinuses are clear
Try sleeping on your left side (don't ask me how but aparently it works
Elevate the head of your bed
Limit alcohol, corree and black tea in the evening
Don't eat a heavy meal within 2 hours before going to bed
Avoid refined carbos late in the evening
Lose weight, although this might not apply to everyone.
Respectfuly pinched from a buteyko website. Some basic sense stuff, some kinda unusual stuff.

Sir and I both snore. I'm pretty sure my snoring doesn't last long before it wakes me up because Sir never complains. When Sir snores, it doesn't wake him up. I usually nudge him and let him know. He denies the snoring, goes back to sleep, and the snoring resumes. He also snores when sleeping on his side.
