i am in training right now online. so far it is working just fine for me. i am getting to explore the lifestyle and i am giving control to Someone who knows what to do with it. i have no complaints and i am learning, which is what i need right now.

I suppose we'll just wait and see what happens. Thankfully, I've enough good sense and intelligence to recognize a moron when I meet one (even if it's only online).

In response to CrappyDom: I actually do have most of the books you referenced. My personal learning style requires interaction with an instructor, however. I don't absorb as much from just reading.

I understand that approximately 98% of the people who contact me here probably won't be what I'm looking for. Luckily for me, being rejected because *gasp* I really DID mean no sex when I put it in my profile, bothers me not in the slightest.

I'm pleased to say that I actually have met someone here that I believe has the possibility of becoming a friend. And I'm pleased with that.

Training implies measurable goals - else how would anyone know when /if training is completed ? There is also the question of what one is in training for - or training to be--

Depending on the learning objectives on-line training can be a very successful method of achieving certain goals. Theory and 'feelings' often do well with on line communication, while (as has been mentioned in other posts) learning obejectives for techniques and sensations are not so easily achieved.

Pragmatism is key. What works for the particular circumstances and individuals involved? What are the goals? Are the goals achievable? Are the goals measurable?

As the others posts so eloquently elaborated, what works for some works for some. When it does not work, it is often ugly. Excellent communication is the key. Communicating expectations is essential.
