Has anyone noticed a change in their kinkiness while coming on or going off of hormonal BC?

When my Dom and I got together, I was very much a pet. I went on the Pill when we got sexual, and have been for about three years now. Over the last couple of years, though, I started losing my interest in BDSM. We're still happily married, we just boxed away the ropes and floggers. I became a lot more dominant, too, which has placed a bit of strain on the relationship. I thought that I'd been put under too much stress over the last few years to be able to accept being told what to do, and we just adjusted. I like to fight, so many of our "scenes" simply turned into an equal brawl and ended with us both bruised, laughing, and exhausted. It worked well.

I did have a male subbie myself for a while: no sex but a few beatings before he got a normal girlfriend and wandered off.

However, last month my doctor told me that I couldn't have hormonal BC anymore due to another health issue that had recently been discovered to make hormones dangerous. So I went off of the Pill and switched to Fertility Awareness (Liking that one better, anyway.).

But in the 43 days since then, I've become danged kinky again! I'm almost back to being a full-on sub again. I think this might have been a hormonal issue. I know that the Pill lowered my libido a bit, and the first brand I took screwed with my testosterone levels (I was my husband's "Bro" as well as a wife, it was fun but weird...). Has anyone else had this happen before?

Never happened to me before, but it can be true
Hormones can affect our looks & our emotions & our felling …
I have to ask you if it’s not too personal, what did you like the most of you before the pill or after you been off it.?

Nothing impossible these days

Yes. The changes I noticed were less to do with kinkiness and more to do with libido. While on BC, my mood swings were frightening. This moodiness affected my sex drive to the point that I would lose interest in even being around a partner.

After going completely off birth control, mainly due to a health condition, (best decision ever!), things evened out and my libido returned.

As for the lack of interest in subbing and leaning more towards a dominant/top position, I've also gone that route and while hormones could play a small role, I don't see them causing such changes. Could there be other factors contributing to the situation?

It could be related to a hormonal issue or it could just be the ebb and flow of your relationship. In every relationship there are high points of sexual contact and low points. My Master and I have been together for seven years and there are times when we can’t get enough BDSM play and other times when it is of little consequence to us.

I was asking if you liked the feeling as (dominant me part) or the (full-on sub again)?

Birth control has been shown to alter the kind of men that women are attracted to. It wouldn't be surprising to see it affect kink orientation as well.

Ah. I like subbing for him, but for anyone else I'd prefer to top. He likes having a Domme on a leash, makes him feel even MORE powerful. It's working well.
