Lol, where did I say that was your opinion? I said reaching a conclusion, which you just said the statement is a conclusion, based upon me being an ass, and not for what I said, is prejudice, which is a nice way of saying invalid.

quote:

Look. You said that you are an ass and that you admit that. You then say that assism is subjective. This then negates the fact that you call yourself an ass. Which makes you more of an ass, which in your opinion is subjective. That is what you are not seeing.

That's complete and total circular logic. It is because it says it is?!?! I mean yes, in terms of purely metaphysical considerations (I think therefore I am) I might agree with you, but not here. How does being an ass being subjective invalidate, or negate, someone saying I'm an ass?

Without a doubt there are things we have to do that are not enjoyable...that is a part of life. And there are the things we like to do that have their unpleasant moments which, again, is a life thing.
The choice here is you can either tolerate and make the best of the unpleasantness, or you can remove yourself from the situation. Either choice is acceptable.
What is NOT acceptable and will earn you well deserved criticism is the expectation of sympathy...expressed in a highly annoying whine.

So, in essence what you are saying is that we all need to just be quiet and accept the status quo?

Lockit -> RE: Are They fucking joking or something? (2/20/2011 4:35:42 PM)

When did whining ever serve as a productive manner in which to change something? For that matter, how effective is venting? If you wish to change something, do so in a manner in which is reasonable and effective. Excusing laziness or the lack of willingness to accept a place and the way it is and still choosing to be there and then venting or whining... isn't going to be effective.

We all have things on our agenda that are not pleasant to do. If you choose to whine your way through, have at it but dont get pissy when someone passes you the cheese plate.

Uhhhh..........that brings me back to my question.

When did voicing an opinion, even a negative one, come to be described as whining?

discreethusband -> RE: Are They fucking joking or something? (2/20/2011 4:40:35 PM)

In a civil society, voicing your complaints effects change all the time. That's the entire progressive movement wrapped up in a nutshell. But, as far as me, personally, being sympathetic for someone's circumstances, and here, the extent of my sympathy is "hey, that sucks" is not the same as excusing laziness. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with CM, or that the pro Dom's do not have the right to be here, or anything like that.

Good question... you may answer that as easily as I could, much to the dismay of one another, because you accused me of doing so (whining and that black kettle thing). We will just have to agree that we are not going to agree, nor make any headway in this debate.

It is more a tit for tat than any reasonable debate... so... you have a good day and I will continue with mine.

I didn't know that trying to meet someone on a website was supposed to be an unpleasant adventure.

Good to know!

I'll inform MySpace.

i actually had some nut offer to hire me as his dominant, offering to buy me clothes and "tools of the trade" that i could use with anyone i wanted. he wanted to pay me for sessions. i told him i wasn't a whore and that he was insulting me by even suggesting it. i'd been interested in him until then. he couldn't even wait long enough to meet and possibly get the goods for free. shot himself in the foot i guess, lol.

I never said it was. Perhaps you heard that from those you met?

I know.

MySpace seems to be practically bankrupt.

Hardly anyone ever goes there anymore.

discreethusband -> RE: Are They fucking joking or something? (2/20/2011 5:15:19 PM)

Holly, you're saying if you have to do something unpleasant, don't whine about it. If you're not saying that for the benefit of this discussion, why are you saying it at all? What would it have to do with Rule's point that people raising there opinions shouldn't necessarily be per se whining?

I'm pretty sure you did, unless my eyesight is failing me.

Ok, I am fairly new to the scene, for a start off, I prefer to meet people in real life, like at a MUNCH etc, but I feel sorry for all of the subs that actually browse for mistress' and Domme's. What the fuck is a tribute!!?? since when have subs had to pay to get humiliated online by someone who is just trying to rinse some cash off them. I was browsing the profiles, as you do, and its almost all Domme's ASKING for money or gifts. WTF! ok, I am all for pleasing a woman, but paying them, when you probably wont even meet them?! Go and get involved in your local scene, where everyone is genuine and its FREE! I am not talking about booking a session with a dominatrix here, thats a different story, fair game, but to con a gullible young sub out of there hard earned cash is an absolute sham. I don't even think that half the people are really the person in the pic anyhow. I am not saying there arent any genuine Domme's and mistress' on here, you know who you are, but the scammers outweigh the Dommes thats for sure. It just annoys me that the moderators don't do anything about it.

Sorry, just a rant here, had to get it out of me. f**life seems more true, join that.

The OP calls it a vent... some call it a whine... some call it both. Adding that most posts made by the same person are talking about money and dominants... I consider that a clear indication we might have a whine.

discreethusband -> RE: Are They fucking joking or something? (2/20/2011 5:25:07 PM)

By virtue of the fact that a post references money and dominants it is a whine? In other words, you cannot discuss those subject matters without whining? The funniest thing about this is, I'm not sub, and I'm too cheap to ever pay for sex lol [:D]

Nah.. it was more the attitude of *this place sucks, fuck you all, I'm going to Fetlife where are the real, true dommes hang out* that put it into the whine catagory.

The ever helpful Bita

Lol, I can understand that, but I'm fairly certain she was referring to me, and I've never said anything like that.
