The Op mentions HATE... which in general usually implies a strong emotional response...

And if you cant understand why, maybe you should try being a larger girl for a few days in public and see the hatred and disgust people show...

It doesnt require all that.

She simply needs to focus on that asset she hates the most about herself... all women have at least one... then imagine it being the brunt of every conversation she has ever come across to understand how someone may be hurt by such comments.

But, allow me to expand. Everyone has something about themselves they dont like or are not extremely happy about. For anyone to not understand a situation where someone else can become hurt by the words of another is beyond me, and extremely narrow minded. Doesnt matter if you have curly hair, too thin lips, uneven breasts, a big nose, or too small eyes. Everyone wants to be liked and accepted for themselves, just as they are.

And, no, not everyone will like you for who or what you are. Thats the reality. But to belittle someone because of your own personal likes or dislikes shows a complete lack of empathy.

Cant help, at that moment, what someone looks like. What you CAN help is what you say around them.

We have become a society that thinks its funny to talk about everyone, and if you can get away with it by talking in front of the person you are berating, even better. Instead of helping hands, we offer slap downs. As funny as Tosh.O may be, its the perfect exmple of what I am saying. The Bad Girls series is even worse.
