Two parts vinegar, one part lemon juice, once part sugar. Boil rapidly, then simmer. Don't forget to do so in a well ventilated room, and remember to sterilise the jar before you stuff yourself inside it.

Makes me think of women who were told to "save their virginity for their ONE and only."

Great, if that's your belief (value) system. After knowing a lot of game players and New Relationship Energy junkies, a man who is focued on meeting someone special - rather than chasing anyone available - can't be all that bad...one would think. However, I imagine the preserving ones self while still seeking out that ONE could get pretty problematic.

This brings to mind the question, is there really only one special person for each individual?

Gods, I hope not. I'd be very sad to think that I'd had my chance at love, and there was no other in my future.

No idea what a pressure canner is. When I preserve stuff I just use a heavy-bottomed saucepan, and either sterilise the jars in the oven or the microwave, and then pour the preserve and seal in while the glass is still hot.

Interesting concept, but in all honesty preserved stuff in my house tends not to be around for that long - it tends to get eaten pretty quickly
