lol... my son did the same. at age 9 he stole from wally world, and i found it.. a small fishing lure worth one dollar. he admitted it quickly and we went back to pay for it. I made him throw it away after paying and appologizing to the store manager. my nephew who was in on it all got away unscathed. guess who is in jail now. my son is in college.

I agree with angel, it's stupid this mother was so outraged. People are waaayy too sensitive nowadays.

When I was a kid and my teacher had to send notes home, she would pin them to my shirt on the back, with a straight pin. I can't remember caring about it at all. My Mom certainly didn't care, nor did my Dad. I walked home too, every day. So everyone and their grandma saw that I had a note pinned to me. Oh freaking well. This probably happened until I was in the first or second grade.

I'm not a parent, I have no idea how I'll react if something like this happens to my kid. But I seriously hope I don't act like that.

Granted, the teacher probably shouldn't have used a stapler but really, all this is just ridiculous.

TFB, the teacher offered to pay for the cost of the shirt.

Tazzy what I find more amusing is... A kid who has something stapled to his shirt... makes the news

however another kid threatens to bring a gun to school and shoot his classmates (he was a first grader) and not even the police get involved.

Because its not the evil teacher, its the kid. And no one wants to believe a kid can be that evil. They can be. They can kill. They can lie. They can do all sorts of evil things... just no one wants to believe it.

How did you get over it? By becoming a bully just like the ones who tormented you? I was able to recover without turning into a bully myself. Who really got over it?

I happen to be an adult who can take personal responsibility for my actions....

I challenge you, as an adult, to take personal responsibility for becoming a forum bully.

A forum bully? How is that even possible?

Apparently being honest and telling the truth is being a bully.

Look, little girl.

I accept full responsibility for not becoming a bully so I can be a big girl just like you.

You want to continue to live in the past? Be my guest. Dont expect the rest of us to go along for the ride.

I'm sorry you don't understand the difference between living in the past and someone speaking out against others having to go through the same thing. Didn't you see the posts where people were saying children should be humiliated because it builds character?

And, please, dont tell me at 35 you are just getting over the trauma of being called a liar at age 5.

I stated very clearly that once the teacher made me a target, the bullying lasted for years. In other words, the teacher was only the beginning. If you had read my posts, you would know that. I'm sorry you were molested. I was raped when I was 12. The rape took less time to get over than the bullying because the rape only happened once. The thought of other children being bullied infuriates me because I remember how it felt. That doesn't mean I'm not over it.

LOL !

My first grade teacher had a blue baby bottle with a yellow ribbon tied around it. If we misbehaved, we had to wear the baby bottle around our necks for the day. To lunch, to recess, to music class whereever the day took you.

My second grade teacher had a sign we had to wear if we spoke out of turn or without raising our hand in class. It said " I was a naughty boy/girl today and spoke in class.

I can only imagine if those tactics were used today, the outcry of the emotional damage to the child.

But.... i can only recall one or two kids that had to wear the bottle or sign, and only once. It was a very effective deterant and kept class orderly. NO ONE wanted to have to deal with either of those things. I also remember my own parents and my friends parents supporting the teacher, when we came home and told them about it.
mbmbn

Ha! My first grade teacher had a PINK baby bonnet that you had to wear in class, recess, to the head and cafeteria too.
One kid was a fuck up and had to wear it three times!
Needless to say we were the quietest most polite class in the school. NOONE wanted to have to wear that baby bonnet!
It's good for kids to get humiliated, hurt, in a fight once in a while as it teaches them early that life, "ain't a bed of roses!"
Otherwise you end up with a kid with an inflated sense of self-worth, easily "Offended" (there's that word again!) a a false sense of entitlement and a giant ego. Just the type of kids that need a good fuckin' beating.
I was stuck right behind a school bus one time with six or eight cars behind me and the kids in the back started sticking their tongues out at me and pointing at me so, I gave them the finger.
They started giving me the finger back and all of a sudden the bus pulled off the road abruptly and the driver went to the back of the bus.
I drove by and the lady behind me was beeping her horn at me and giving me the thumbs up.
The little bastards learned a lesson that day didn't they?

Advising others to go through my past posts isn't bullying?

Calling you out on your shit isnt being cruel Its being honest, I understand that telling you things you dont want to hear might be cruel to you but it is in no way being being a bully...

I see no difference between cruelty, which you admit to, and being a bully.

Saying the truth that I someone who was harassed and teased in school someone who had notes pined to them someone who was even bent over a desk and paddled turn out better for it then the coddled little shits that didnt have those experiences is my opinion based on my experiences....

So you think you turned out better because you were harassed, teased, and paddled at school? I disagree. Perhaps if you had been coddled more, you would have been able to get over it instead of becoming a bully yourself.

Telling someone to go through your past posts isnt being a bully, its saying this person has a history of doing something.... heres proof of that history...

Being cruel to you in your mind is not being cruel... Cruel is defined. 1.willfully or knowingly causing pain or distress to others. 2. enjoying the pain or distress of others: the cruel spectators of the gladiatorial contests. 3 causing or marked by great pain or distress: a cruel remark; a cruel affliction. 4 rigid; stern; strict; unrelentingly severe.

I am not willfully or knowingly causing you pain or distress by being honest and truthful, no one else is saying im being cruel or willfully or knowingly causing you distress.... I do not enjoy your pain, or distress.... nor am I rigid stern or unrelentingly severe...

I know being told to be responsible to your actions and the consequences of those actions, might cause you distress, but i dont get joy out of the sadness nor the life you endure.. I do everything in my power to make sure the children in my influence.... are not subjected to the coddling you had in your life.... and that they know how to take personal responsibility...

None of that is being a bully or being cruel... its being honest. If you cant handle honesty then hide my posts... because I will not LIE nor CODDLE you because you cant handle someone being honest with you...

Id also like to point out by calling me a bully you yourself are a bully for being unintentionally cruel by calling me a name you know will most likely hurt me..

OMG i love it.   Sadly, its possible when people like being victims and want to blame their being a victim on everyone else who isn't agreeing with them.

However, this thread isn't about BULLYING?

DBG seriously enough of the bullying crap.   If you want to start your own thread on the subject -- do so someplace else.  Whining at 40 years old that people TYPING on a message forums are bullying you is seriously pathetic.  Be a victim someplace else please.

Here's something to teach you how not to be a victim on a discussion board where you are claiming people are bullies  -- sticks and stones may break my bones but typed words on a discussion board can never hurt me.  So to not be a victim, instead of whining calling people bully's who are telling you things you don't like, simply click the little X at the top of the screen and go about your life.  It really IS that easy.

Own your power DBG, you don't have to keep being a victim in your life.

I agree with Angel.  I also haven't read every single post on this thread, but have read a lot of them.  It reminds me of something I saw once on youtube.  Its a definite sign of changing times.
