Yeah, and if you understand how bels work, 7 is ten times 4. And 11 is ten times 7.

Hitting 8.9 is alot of bels, which is the same type of scale as decibels.

T^T

It's a base 10 log scale, just like pH. A log is an exponent. The log of 100, base 10, is 2. The log of 1000, base 10, is 3.

The natural logarithm to base e is a constant; it is the irrational number 2.718281828..., the derivation of e is not germane to this discussion.

Panda spoke of several isotopes generated by the disaster in Japan, and spoke of the half-lives. The half-life of an isotope, or a pharmaceutical, is calculated using a differential equation using the natural log function, knowing the decay constant.

This function is also used to calculate compound interest, such as Annuity calculations.

That go for you as well, then?
That ruling would suggest that you know less than most on here, given how many areas of expertise you lay claim to...
Thing is, Moonie, that Term is right about a lot of things more often than he is wrong. I don't understand his defense of PA and RO, but that's another topic. Concerning things scientific, he's pretty sharp. And this is coming from an ex-chemist, who had the hubris to take a couple of his calculus tests in pen. And somebody who spent almost 10 years with Shell Research in Houston, working on Enhanced Recovery technology, and who ran 3 labs simultaneously. Shell wasn't in the habit of hiring stupid people. The guy who used to win all the chess tourneys once ran the Permafrost Institute in Irkutsk, Siberia. Most of the high-level people had several patents, and I myself was named on two patents as a co-researcher.

So understand that when I say someone has some tech knowledge, I'm probably better able to judge than some insurance peddler, or some headcase in PA who is on the dole, or some truck driver or Magna Carta "scholar" >snicker<.

HillWilliam also has some scientific expertise. And, although I don't know Panda's background, he has shown himself able to understand complex scientific questions, unlike, say, popeye, who hasn't the faintest notion of the difference between climate and weather.

Fair enough. I was just taking issue with that: "the more you claim to know, the less you really know" line, to be honest. That just struck me as anti intellectual sneering more than anything else.

I like the cut of your jib.

I guess I may have come off that way. I've been through all kinds of wars on the fora. Maybe I am too much, too adversarial. If so I am sorry, but wait until "they" start on you. And you should see me get on some of the old hands on here. No mercy. But then these are some serious issues.

Go ahead and ignore me, then six billion plus can see what I said and you can't.

What I am trying to get across is that you are whole hog into this, all excited and feel that you are discovering secrets. In a way you are. But like I said, this forum has been through that hundreds of times.

Do as thou wilt.

T^T

You really assume too much.  I know I'm not discovering anything new.  In order to do that I would have to really dig.  I'll leave that to the full blown activists.

I just wage the info war.  In my own way.  I change peoples minds and enlighten them every day.  Help people think outside the box.  Let them know there is an alternative to the false left right. I have woken hundreds of people up out of their bullshit pop-culture if not more.  Shown them that the time has come to down your own research and think for yourselves.

I am in no way new to debate or new to this information.  To me it feels like a broken record.  Because all in all it's the same conversation over and over.  My point being that if I myself, one person, can accomplish that.  If even one of those people I wake up becomes as effective as myself.  That's the snow ball effect we need and my time has not been wasted.  Movements, splintered as they are, have grown in leaps and bounds over the last few years.  This would not have been able to happen if it weren't for people like me on the front lines of the infowar.

Also before anyone decides to claim that I support Alex Jones, because I am using a lot of his terms, don't bother.  I take everything he says with a grain of salt.  He makes some good points, but many sound nuts and as true as they may be.  I feel they are counter productive to the overall cause.

I have the benefit of being neither left nor right.  So I can relate to both.  One thing I have learned in all of this, you can never underestimate someone due to a silly thing like age.

Age in most things is irrelevant, it is how useful it is that matters.

But with age in human terms comes experience and knowing when to let others know the benefit of that experience.

But we all have to start somewhere, adopt an open mind and let the experiences roll in.

If I didn't have an open mind.  I would still be a Democrat just because I'm from Chicago and practically everyone else here is.  I would have never searched for my own answers.  Age does equal experience.  But only to an extent.  And it in no way guarantees wisdom.

I hope I can express this in a couple paragraphs because more would be a hijack, I'd have to mailya. I may come off as an asshole sometimes, with my naturally cocky attitude. But I think I do come by it honestly. I do know certain things that very few other know. I can make a weapon out of a micrwave oven. In theory it is actually a MASER, related to the LASER. But it is a short MASER, it's not as good as what you can do with higher technology.

What I am trying to say I guess is that assumptions are bad. Morton Thiacol, the space shuttle, remember ? Don't count your satellites repaired until they actually work. A teacher died in that remember ? The Russians said that we are too foolish to be trusted with such technology. I forgot her name, but not what happened to her, and the same for Racheal Corrie. And Malcom X, and where is Louis Farrakan right now ? This is not bullshit, this is real life and I know you know that and I know that is what impels you.

But seeking the giant leap can sometimes cost you the first step.

"But seeking the giant leap can sometimes cost you the first step."

Good words.

I think that the "listen here, sonny" routine may have gone a bit further than what might be considered as productive, which was a point brought out by the recipient at various junctures.

As for myself, I can only be encouraged that someone comes into all this having dispensed with the idiotic Dem/Rep paradigm at such an early point in life, as opposed to the majority here and everywhere else that still fall for that crap.

Nobody can score 100% on all their homework or tests, but I contrast those who get a few things wrong out of their own efforts with those who just stick a mainstream news paper or TV bleating into their face and be done with it, and I'll take the guy who misses the mark on a few occasions every time, rather than those who subscribe to some pat ideology that is wrong from the word "go" and never steers away from that errant path.
