Even though drift is somewhat normal in OT, I think that this is a bit beyond the norm. ALthough not a quote of the day, have a wondrous Tuesday and let's move on, k?

Umm, well no, he went into that particular forum to insult GOREANS.

One can only be insulted when one chooses to be insulted.

The man is Irish. Them people say things like 'craigh' or sumpthing like that. And if they are not talking about leprechauns, they either think that they are leprechauns or behave like leprechauns. If I were a Gorean, I would simply laugh it off.

Anyway, he did evoke some interesting responses in that Gorean thread, though I did not read all of it.

Can we move on please? This is the last time I'm asking. THAT is not the subject of this (supposed to be) light hearted thread in any shape or fashion.

Please do not post your own Sunny's Quote of the Day. If you wish to nominate a post, then please Cmail me, or make a post nominating it in the thread it appears in.

While it is true that I am the one making the selections and not Sunshinemiss, it was Sunshinemiss who authorized me to do so in her name and this is just an temporary situation. It is still Sunny's Quote, and she will resume making the choices whenever she returns. Please give it the respect you would her.

Thank you.

Heather

Heather's choice for the
Sunny's Quote of the Day
goes to
Servant4Queen

for these wonderful suggestions:

Sounds like you need to have a forest gump moment and get ahold of somebody like Bubba and do some brain storming lets see there's ...Ass licking, ass rimming, ass hugging, finger in ass, tonque in ass, ass and shrimp, ass tofu ...etc

.....barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. There's pineapple an'ass, , coconut with ass, pepper with ass , ass nibble, ass lick, ass slap (gently), ass massage, ass and potatoes, ass with merlot, ass with chardonay (not sure is a red or white wine is appropriate) , ass on the rocks ...

Heather's choice for the
Sunny's Quote of the Day
goes to
Kana

for this explanation of the proper method of keeping a submissive from getting bored:

Oh glory me. I would pay hard cash to see her come up and say, "I'm bored, entertain me,"
Oh ko, you would be able to hear her vastly and abundantly entertained screams miles away.

Since I am going to be on moderation for a good long time, deservedly so, I have asked Pam <gungadin09> to take over the Quote of the Day.

(In response to the post above, because i already know what it says.)

As per our discussion, i'm going to need sunshinemiss to tell me herself that i have her permission to post quotes on this thread.  i told you that when you first emailed me about this.  That was why i gave you my email for Fetlife.

I'm now amending that even further:  if Sunny wants me to take over, she needs to tell me so on this thread, as well as through email.

pam

Hello everyone,
I would like to thank you all for the kind words I've received during the time I started and maintained the quote of the day.  I have enjoyed very much turning a spotlight onto something wonderful that another person has said.  All too often, the world gets caught up in disagreements, negativity, and (sometimes) bickering.  I really wanted to bring some joy to the boards because CM and the people here have been (and continue to be) such a support to me.

When I began the QOTD, I set up a few rules for myself.

1.  NOTHING HURTFUL
A quote of the day should never be applied to a mean-spirited post.  That is, if it was clever and witty but was poking fun at someone even a little bit, it was not eligible for the quote of the day.  (Even if it was toward someone I thought could take a joke.  Too many things can get misconstrued, I could be wrong, someone could be having a rough day, etc.  Just don't do it, sunshine.).

2.  THERE'S ENOUGH TO GO AROUND
The pie (or 3.14) is big enough for everybody.  If someone recently got a QOTD, then despite clever witticisms, I did my best to find someone else to give the QOTD to.  I did not always succeed in this, but it was always a goal for this thread.

3.  WARM, SUNNY QUOTES
The quote of the day is not MY (sunshine's) quote of the day, but it had to be a sunny quote - something that made me smile and feel warm.  I know heather has actually made them possessive (sunny's), and I've taken a hands-off approach to this.  I handed it over to her at the time, and I left it alone.  I felt that it was done out of respect, and I've appreciated that on more than one level.

4.  THINGS THAT MAKE YOU STOP
The quote of the day never had any rhyme or reason - it just was something that made me think, made me laugh, made me say "good on you" or something like that.  I tried to let it just happen.  There were days - even weeks - when there were no quotes because nothing did that for me.  It is purely subjective, and I make no apologies for my own personal sense of humor or choices.

*************
I've been very busy, and frankly my focuses have changed somewhat.  Heather is an excellent writer, and it was my intention to support her in looking for nuggets, jewels, in other people's writings as a way to hone her own wordsmithery.  I wanted to support her, a budding writer, in this very small way.  I've had a private word or two with her upon occasion and have been pleased to see her growing in that area.  I know she has taken the QOTD pretty seriously and has done her best to keep things in the spirit of the guidelines I originally put forth for myself.

There has been a bit of a storm here recently, and I've chosen to not even look at it.  I can't help but be reminded that the flowers grow with sunshine AND rain AND a bit of fertilizer thrown in.  It's a good reminder.

Perhaps, it is a good time to let the quote of the day rest - as it is now.

So... here is my proposal.

THE PROPOSAL:
If you feel the urge to highlight a sunny (warm) quote, I ask you to do so in the spirit of the guidelines that I originally set up.  In particular, I would ask that this NOT be used to taunt or make fun of someone else - there is enough pain and anger in the world.  This is a gentle suggestion.

Oftentimes, I've read (I've even written) that once you start a thread, it is no longer YOUR thread.  So, too, with this thread.  While I started it and maintained it for a good long while, it is not MY thread.  The only way it has MY name on it is that I made the choices early on.  I thank both heather and pam for being respectful to me and my point of view where this topic is concerned.

I wish all of you the best, I wish you great love and joy in your lives, and mostly I with you peace.
sunshine
