It does make it sound that way. But if it were true, then we wouldn't have had so many headlines on them when they were active over in the UK in the past. We also would not have made so many movies about it. People on these forums tend to talk about current events and I haven't heard of them doing anything recently. I doubt it has anything to do with one being irish and the other muslim.

Aneirin I think your question would make a good new thread. But for this one don't you think it rather silly to bring the IRA into this discussion? Because some Americans supported the IRA has nothing to do with Islamic terrorists attacking America and our persecution of them.

I am not ignoring it politesub...I asked him what it had to do with Muslims. And why he doesn't start another thread.

Maybe you would like to tell me why you think the IRA has anything to do with this thread?

I dont agree with Islam, I dont agree with Catholics or Protestants. I do see fanatics and funnymentalists on all sides being as bad as others. The numbers may not be equal, but then neither are the "justifications" firmly studied.

but that didnt matter to people more than the fact that muslims attacked christians.

They were being funded by Americans (if not the American government), so obviously they're freedom fighters.
It might be more germane to ask why OBL wasn't a terrorist when he was killing the evil russkies in Afdghanistan instead of Americans...

We've had exclusion zones around our cities since the '70s to prevent that happening.
About the only thing of worth we've got out of the alleged 'special relationship" since the war, really.
