To RedMagic: I am black and I have a college degree. Just like you said your statement is not a fact of the overall status and can not be fairly judged just by the few blacks you mat know. You can't always go by some google search or man made statistics when it comes to Dommes of a certain race. And in this economy whether your black, white, asian or whatever those degrees are not doing any of us much good now. Degree or no degree when going gets tough, the tough get going.

I agree 100% that the degrees are not worth much in this economy. I also do not believe that a degree is any sign of intelligence. If it matters to you, I have a date this weekend with a black woman who is smart and curious, but had to drop out of college for economic reasons. I am taking her to a museum of African-American history.

That said, even on this thread, there have been four pro dommes who posted. Two of them have PhDs, and two do not. That split is along racial lines. Beyond that, do you know any black pro dommes with a PhD? How many black women do you know with a PhD? This has nothing to do with intelligence, in my eyes, though there are perhaps troll posters who will try to say it does. What matters are things like childhood opportunities, and earlier age of first giving birth, etc.

I have a master's...does that count for something?

Certainly; however, it depends what in; how much it counts.

I'm guessing you'd be the authority in terms of how much its worth...right?

In terms of to society, it's subjective; however, something like Science or Engineering obviously has more worth that Sociology.

Not what I asked.

If a person can get a well paying job in the area that they obtained a degree in, the degree has value. People who have sociology degrees can do a plethora of different jobs:

Criminal Justice, Advertising, Social Services, Homeland security, Government administration, education and many others.

All of which pay well. If a person does not care to be an engineer, the degree is worthless.

Myself, I have a master's in Art with a minor in Museum Science, and a Bachelor's in History.

Sneer at it all you want; I have what I want, i'm hapy with it, and i am by no means, starving because I do not have a science degree.

Yeah, you certainly can pass a degree Molecular Biology in the U.K. by paying; what? You can't! :-)

Wasn't my subject, and as I explained, I went to 1st class universities, I guess you couldn't get into Trinity on a scholarship and feel a bit bitter... Get over it and get a job...

Btw for a native speaker your spelling and grammar are fairly poor, which doesn't give your claims of higher education any credentials...

Oh and when can we expect your vanilla girlfriend to come on video or voice chat and verify your claims about your relationship?

Did you just say entrepreneurship?

It always amuses me how pro-dommes like to think of themselves as respectable professionals just because the sexual service they provide doesn't involve spreading their legs.

The fact that you are incapable of respecting women who work in the sex industry says a whole lot more about you than it does about them.  Repression and personal hangups, much?

Starting and running your own adult business is NOT as easy as buying a latex outfit and a whip and putting an ad on the Internet, not if you want it to be successful in the long term.  If you want to run a dungeon, we're talking about some fairly significant capital investment, management and marketing skills beyond the already considerable skill set of fulfilling kinky fantasies in ways that are safe and legal.  The fact that sex (or rather, sexual titillation) is involved in this industry doesn't automatically cut the workload of running it as a business, or even change it.  If you believe that businesses in the adult industry are somehow maaaagic and exempt from the standard parameters of business management, that speaks to your personal hangups and religious mores, not to economic reality.

Please expand your observation, exactly how shallow am I about 'it'?

When I first collared clip, we ran into a lot of guys like you.  They wanted what he had so much that they couldn't stand themselves.

Something for you to think about.

I have a loving vanilla relationship.... Why would I want what you have?

If this is true then why are you spending so much time on cm pissing and moaning about bdsm? Why are you not out with your vanilla girlfriend having a good time?

Economically, that does tend to be the case.  But not always.  My degree specialization is in an obscure and not very commercially marketable form of science that tends to create limited employment opportunities in research and academia and absolutely nowhere else.  So economically it's probably worth about the same as a degree in sociology.   This is true for a number of my colleagues as well.  There are folks in my field with PhD's who make very little and live in the field in literal huts or small trailers doing their work, but they're doing what they love.  Ultimately, I think that's what matters most.

And don't bother to ask, I'm not telling.

Is that why you are here for your education???

No, he came here to show himself up as a liar... He obviously hasn't figured out that CM keeps track of posts...

I find I migrate to bdsm after vanilla relationships because I desire structure for a while with less emotion. Is this what BDSM is?

And then:

She does, hahahaha :-) To us BDSM is just role play as I have stated before. Typical woman, never listens.

I rest my case... So he migrates to BDSM after a vanilla relationship for the structure, but right now he is in a vanilla relationship, she watches him post (err sure) and for them BDSM is just roleplay...

Sounds a bit confused to me. I wouldn't be surprised if his only "involvement" with BDSM has been watching BDSM porn and the girlfriend is of the Harvey variety...

Yep, LC, I highly doubt this Aware minded man has a girlfriend. Ever notice how he's belligerent to women only? He obviously despises the gals.

I think we all came to this conclusion, notice how he doesn't reply when asked if the "girlfriend" (not that I care what he calls his hand) would like to go on voice or video chat to verify what he said... Strange isn't it...

The emotionally vulnerable need protection from these evil scammers.

Um, philslave, do you know Awareness? Or Starbuck09? they have a very similar viewpoint on women as you I've come to feel.

If you look in the mirror you'll find your sympathy... gay men can be a great alternative too. [:D]

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Are money dommes like beggars? (5/27/2011 9:22:12 AM)

Do you think there is a correlation between the serious hatred of sex workers and the general misogyny we've seen? Why hate prostitutes? Or strippers, or phone sex workers, or pro dominants, or porn actresses?

Personally, I cannot imagine a more horrible way to make a living than fucking strangers. I am very glad that I never had to do it. That doesn't mean I look down on the women and men who pay their bills by hustling.

Actually some might enjoy it, all the more power to them! Oddly enough those guys never seem to have an issue with male prostitutes or male porn stars... Maybe it's the fact that nobody would ever be desperate enough to pay them?

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Are money dommes like beggars? (5/27/2011 9:41:58 AM)

I am not sure if beauty has anything to do with success as a hooker or hustler! :)

It's true, though, that you never see the hating for the mens! Shocking, eh?

LadyPact -> RE: Are money dommes like beggars? (5/27/2011 10:27:50 AM)

Beauty?  Two words for you, Hib.

Ron Jeremy.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Are money dommes like beggars? (5/27/2011 10:31:54 AM)

Hey!! Ron Jeremy is the shiznit!! He is a seriously funny dude. Smart, too. And, he is a porn star, where beauty is not relevant for men. I was thinking of street hustlers and the like. Do they need the pretty? No idea.

LadyPact -> RE: Are money dommes like beggars? (5/27/2011 10:43:29 AM)

I'm thinking, somewhere in the beginning of the career, it must have been that sense of humor that got him the job.  During that first casting call, I'll bet he ran into a director who got a kick out of the suggestion of a laugh by saying, "just think of how funny it will be to introduce me to the cast and say 'here's who you'll be fucking today'".

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Are money dommes like beggars? (5/27/2011 10:48:01 AM)

Oh for reals!! There is this low budget movie called "one-eyed monster" with him, and Veronica Hart, and some young folks, where aliens clone his unit and use it as a death device! Total WIN!

LadyPact -> RE: Are money dommes like beggars? (5/27/2011 10:52:38 AM)

Attack of the killer penis!  I love it!  [sm=LMAO.gif]

I've been giving some of the profiles on here some thought and it seems to me that financial dommes are little more than beggars. What do others think?

I'm about to be a huge dork. Like, an even bigger dork than usual, and my default status is definitely a young-Cusack level of dorkiness. I know perfectly well that the OP is an inept and lazy troll post and, to my credit, I'm not going to expend much time and energy right here and now on this topic. But I have this weird sense of personal loyalty and I can't really let this pass without just noting that some of my favorite people (none of them post here, as far as I know) through the years have been Money Dommes. I've never tribbed any of them (though I have been to pro Dommes and feel zero embarrassment about that) and most of them I met online at non-kinky sites (horror message boards, a philosophy message board, etc) and although I understand the kink I don't happen to have it.

So I feel obligated to say quickly:

1) I fully believe that financial domination is as legitimate as any other kink, and 2) I have mad love for Money Dommes!

Edited to fix a typo!!!

a1111 -> RE: Are money dommes like beggars? (5/27/2011 10:55:50 AM)
