Whats wrong with paying for the things that we need? He isnt saying Joplin will not get any federal relief as you erroneously seem to believe... And we are already so far in debt that the situation has gone far, far beyond ridiculous... Sanity this is not the time to bargain for cuts or make political hay... Yes later this should be taken into account but not now... If I had a home destroyed and perhaps family killed and some asshole in congress started harping on budget cuts before aid I would not vote Republican again...And I'll bet his comments will be remembered there. It shows his lack of common decency and sense and he does not deserve to be a representative of the people. Butch

When they actually have some semblance of a plan and facts and real numbers and fair and balanced cuts and quit dumping all the money on the rich while generally continuing down the road of destroying this country. And demonizing is a standard rushfelcher word and you are like him using it too much and using it incorrectly. You would be closer with the word animadversion. It would help draw the facts of the issues into the debate if you could couch any factual information you might one day obtain in the proper forms and contexts.

How are you making hay? Dont you read your own posts? The aid is on the ground, but still youve got to attack the only responsible people in Washington. Its responsible government to pay for spending, something that this nation has been lacking for too long now, and its refreshing to finally hear that someone is standing up for that principal! In your own personal life there are budgetary demands. If you could just write a check and save the world that would be terrific but thats just not realistic, and government is no different. Please explain who are the 11th hour people? There are plenty of "dying/critical care/end of life care" patients of all ages. I hope you mean 11th hour people of ALL ages, because 11th hour people are not limited to those on medicare. If you are proposing cutting certain services to seniors, be prepared to cut them for human beings at any age. Are you seriously talking about limiting certain procedures and types of care based on age?
