ORIGINAL: DomKen That's hilarious. The last time a christian right winger committed an act of terrorism you hauled out the "No True Scotsman" and now you clutch at the vain hope that this guy is apolitical but is a christian terrorist instead. Since you are following your time-tested policy here of throwing out claims without backing them up, I have no idea what you're talking about. I do seem to vaguely recall some people, or some person, taking the position in previous threads that individuals who commit acts that violate Christ's teachings are by definition not "Christians". But I don't think I was the one making that argument. That said, however, it is not an entirely unsubstantial quibble. It can be applied with considerable legitimacy to churches like Westboro Baptist, and even to Christianity as a whole in support of a claim that the religion is actually Paulism. Moreover, exacty the same argument is frequently employed to counter Islamophobia, i.e., by arguing that the Islamists are in reality just using the Koran as an an excuse, not really following Islam at all. And I don't recall you ever playing the "No True Scotsman" gambit in those threads. But all that aside, in the present instance there is no evidence (at least that I've seen) to support a claim that the guy is anything other than a religious nut. You just seem to be invested in trying to stir up shit that will get people at each other's throats. K.
