Translated from Latin to English, "Ad Hominem" means "against the man" or "against the person."

With FOX NEWS being "the man"

No need to thank me, Im only here to help.

I understand that you extremists on the right think that corporations are a person, (a man)  but we aint there yet, and never will be if I have anything to do with it..  Maybe read up on the word corporation.

Well, you won't know much outside of Republican propaganda, true.

However, in fairness, the rest of TV news is only marginally better, and not by much.

Journalism is rare today.

Some people say watching TV news is a waste of time, that it says little to nothing. How do you respond?

Fox News is pure propaganda.

You may be able to make a case for subtle bias on other networks but Fox is blatant about it and does not even attempt to hide it.

Except for MSN.

MSN and FOX equal in every way.  They just each cater to the opposite extreme.

Hilarious. As a former reporter and news director and current college professor,

Do share your specialist area with us ABM - Advanced Alphabet? Road Sweeping 101? Bigotry for Dummies?

If you're a college professor, Wilbur is the next up for the Nobel Peace Prize.

[sm=pigsfly.gif]

This from the biggest bigot on the board, and thats going a long way. Your self-delusion is stunning.

oh my! Wilbur! You're starting to sound like a graduate from the Goebbels School of Lying - you know, the more you repeat it the more it is believed etc.

Calling me a bigot doesn't make me one. You need evidence for that. And we both know I've never made a single bigoted utterance. So there is no evidence. Nor will continually repeating the charge make it true (unless you are a fan of Goebbels .... which you could very well be. He was a very nasty extreme rightwinger. So you two do share more than just bad attitudes.)

All it does is make you sound like a demented parrot. Not a good look. Not even for you. Go and play with your war toys you silly silly boy.[8|]

Hilarious. As a former reporter and news director and current college professor, I'd give my eye teeth to work at Fox News. They ask hard questions of EVERYBODY. What I constantly find amazing is the pack mentality of the mainstream reporters and editors... they merely publish what the DNC sends them; however, they do go after Republicans hard. The trick is to get the curious enough to push beyond the liberal cocktail set and ask hard questions of EVERYBODY. What passes of "news" in the mainstream press is really whatever they dream the night before. It's pathetic. HOWEVER, the nice thing is we don't have to rely on three networks any longer. I love the new technology, which wasn't around in my hey day.

I constantly find it amazing the bullshit that gets thrown around here.

If you are a college professor then I have a twenty-inch dick.

Except that MSN was created as a response to FOX's extremism.

flcouple2009 -> RE: What you won't know if all you do is listen to Fox-News (5/30/2011 5:46:07 AM)

Sort of

At that point the head of MSN decided the only way to make money in cable news was to follow FOX's lead and pander to an extreme.  Since FOX already had the right MSN went left.

Neither of them are interested in news.  They just pander to their respective cash cows.

Playing your semantics games isnt an acceptable substitute for debating any given  subject in a mature manner, mnot. And if youre really incapable of understanding my meaning then theres really no point in trying to engage with you.

I'm not saying they have a subtle bias. I'm saying they do a crappy job of reporting the news.

You'd have thought Glenn Beck's ramblings about Obama's connections would have given him the hint that Fox News was about as fair and balanced as an obese ice skater.

The whole quote that Fox borrowed from to get "Fair and balanced" is "Fair and balanced as Mr Murdock can be without having a stroke"

Yeah, but they're the only network that offers free vibrators to interns as a perk

That aside... If you search these three words "rush limbaugh drugs"

The closest to a germane result you'll get on page one is:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,208660,00.html

Which paints Fatso as a poor victim of a police conspiracy and making allusions to Hillary and child molesters.

Then way down on page two you'll finally find a story of adoration regarding poor Rushbo on his return to radio. After the miscarriage of justice they called a plea-bargain.

In short, it doesn't take a genius to get that Fox stacks the deck to suite their agenda

Why watch either? When there are other, more reliable news outlets on cable. I won't get my news in either place. Mainly cause what I am looking for is NEWS.
