Based on the either complete lack of repsonse or the disappearane after one email, is it safe to assume that most of the listed "newest local members" are fakes?

To answer your question, no, that doesn't make them fakes. What happens, especially with women is during that first sixty days when people are "new members" is that they get flooded with email. So much so that it's impossible to keep up with it all and reply to everyone. A lot of it is junk mail, where the messages consist of nothing more than hi, want to chat, or some other silly thing. Still, it's a virtual flood of hundreds of emails every week for that first couple of months. A lot of folks will quickly give up on even attempting to return anything other than those they are truly interested in. Some will 'hide' their profile just to stop the sheer volume of it.

There is a very low response rate on internet sites. I think somebody quoted that it's somewhere between five and ten percent for first contacts from messages sent from men to women.

Now to start answering your question. I brought a fem sub to CM from another site this past week, and I warned her how her mailbox will be flooded until she is off the newest local members list, moreso than later on. She had over fifty letters before she had even finished filling out her profile and lists, and these past days has resorted to X'ing out letters from men she is not interested in. The simple hellos with nothing else added, form letters, guys who obviously did not read her profile, ones too far away, etc. She has been so very buys that I haven't heard from her in several days, lol, whereas before we were on the phone for several hours each day.

With others on the newbie list...some are those who got fed up, stormed off after closing their account...and then found themselves drawn back. If you do not give clear signs you have read their profile beyond the fact that they are female and kinky, these returning souls are more likely to use delete and maybe block.

My advice would be to have patience, say something nice about one of their vanilla interests and don't send any nekkie pix. Many will delete your letter without answering if you have a bare bones profile, so filling yours out in a way that reflects your personality would be a good start and might get you more positive responses.

Btw, my profile is now hidden but that doesn't mean I'm a fake, just that I need a break from my mail and do not want to kill off my account. I have friends here and like to read and post in the message boards. In the old days, I used to close out my account and just lurk whenever I felt burnt out, but then I had to come back later on the newest joined list...

The other thing is that many times women will not respond to an email until after they've read the person's profile. If, like yours, it's blank they don't bother to respond.

I strongly suggest filling yours out with the kinds of things that interest you. Not kink/sex stuff. Save that for the last paragraph and don't go on about it.

And when you do write to women, read their profiles. If they say no one over 30, don't assume you're the exception. Write about things you have in common. If they show a picture of their cat, you could send a funny story about yours. Or about how that reminded you of your late cat who is still dearly missed. Establish common ground. Because if we don't have enough in common to enjoy talking to each other, we aren't going to want to be intimate with you.
