My very first thread beginning! blowing horns and popping champagne corks............ My question is this. After spending probably far too much time reading and adding to forums I have noticed a common thread especially in many of the Domina's comments and profiles/journals. It seems that spirituality is quite often very important and a strong part of personal impowerment and identity. While I know that is not uncommon even in the vanilla world it seems to be more "unique" and less the traditional religious practices or points of view. I know my own spiritual path has been and is, rather non conformist and have begun to wonder just what I share with others here. If, like me, the more unique spiritual view points figure very strongly in how you also incorporate D's into your life or wether it is a seperate, and even perhaps conflicting, entity entirely. For me, its all so entertwined and one enriches the other there is no seperation or conflict. However I cannot associate with any religious practice I have yet been exposed to. Just my curious nature, feel free to expound, critisize, comment.........etc etc etc

Just my curious nature, feel free to expound, critisize, comment.........etc etc etc Spirituality is essential in everything I do. My views are eclectic including wicca, kabalah, zen and the tao. Of course the base of it all is metaphysical. I am not rigid nor do I conform even in the most liberal arenas. There are elements in the things I listed that bring me balance as long as I maintain a practice of “something”. Life can really eat you up sometimes and it’s the tools in spiritually that help center you back. For me goddess worship/wicca and my faith in “all that is” allowed me to take the journey into fem domination. As I’ve outlined in previous threads, my path in fem supremacy is more symbolic then literal. Projecting the divine feminine gives me power to move and co-create in a world that discriminates against women. Keep in mind that although I find that all serious work, I am the first to use it to my advantage and have some fun with it. After all… all acts of pleasure are my right! Or is that IS my right? I have met so many BDSM’ers who dabbled in sex magic. IMO there is no energy more intense or stimulating then sex. It doesn’t surprise me, at all, that sex would be used to achieve heightened states of awareness. BDSM if use constructively can also help heal and bring a greater sense of wellbeing.

Ive always been drawn to the hidden stuff in life and so have explored various religions and philosophies as part of my natural inquisitiveness. I found the more I looked, the more the undercurrent of all of them are the same, instead of finding differences I found a similar current running through all of them. I feel the D/s fulfills my spiritual needs within relationship as every part of me is committed to it, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. If I had a religion, it would probably be called "Relationship".

You are just so awesome! :) This is exactly how I perceive it as well, and said so much better. I have never read so much great expression as to what spirituality means to all of You. I feel so much like all of you have expressed. No way could I have expressed it better. When I found, discovered or was introduced into the world of Fem Domme or D/s, I started to realize what might be missing in my life. It is very difficult for me to put into words the way I have also felt about women in general. Hard for me to express how mad or sick it made me feel to know how women throughout history were treated like less then citizens of value. Or worse, as if women were put here only to please men. So wrong! I n so many ways, to me, women are much stronger then men could even begin to tolerate. Starting with but surely not limited to child birth. I have alwasy loved, adored, admired and respected women for being...well? Just women and nurturing mothers that ran the household. A task men are just not cut out to do nearly as well as women. With that said, I want to take a moment to wish all of the mothers among you, a very sincere Happy Mother's Day. One day a year is not enough to honor our mothers. Without you in our lives growing up, we woudl not survive. I am very much a spiritual person. I do pray to a God. But I can not and do not subscribe to any religious sect. Most of which are more like occults and want to lead you like a flock of sheep blindly. All have their own agendas and speak of love of our fellow man. Funny, how most all wars throughout history are born out of religious beliefs. In the name of different Gods, it becomes OK to kill, mame, torture, rape and rob your fellow man. I just don't get it and never will. I know my prayers have gotten me through some of the worst times of my life. I know that some have been answered. I know that I am a good person as any God wants us to be. I guess you might say that I just don't know who my God (s) are. But he is there and very real through my spirituality. I know I have never known love as I have known it in our chosen lifestyle. it is more intense, more sincere and more beautiful then any vanilla love I have experienced. And I have had a couple of good loving vanilla relationships in the past. So I do know the difference. I could never g back to vanilla and be a happy man. So now I just pray that I, and the wonerful loving Domme that has just taken me under consideration, will find that intense ever-lasting love within our lifestyle as we both know we want and need it.

Actually, in most religions that I know of, it is NOT okay to do any of these things. I also want to say that I enjoyed your entire post, it was very well-written and expressed. I didn't want you to think that I was just criticizing and didn't appreciate the rest of what you'd written, because I did :)

Thank You for that Lady Morgynn. I did not even think that You criticizing me. But I think my comments are over-shadowed by the insightfulness of the OP, LaTigresse. She struck a cord with me. As did Dianna Vesta and slavejali. All of You expressed yourselves very well and hit home with me.

Yes ! My belief system is supported by my lifestyle within BDSM D/s too. Living close to the land with circles, cycles and understandings of the role of people within a spiritual role, the Goddess and her consort/s. I use ritual in scenes, to open and close the time, it helps to get the mind in or out of the right place, and sets the scene for worship and roleplay with the Female in her rightful position. The wheel of the year and respect for all aspects of what makes the spiritual world go round is actually enjoyable for men too as it is an extention of their need to worship the Feminine divine, the energy that they wish in their lives. I align to Kali, the Goddess of birth death and rebirth..for many reasons, but I believe that a session time can be seen as exactly that..a virtual rebirth at its most intense. Sooooo many Dominas are plugged in to the same thing, and have found it independant of domination, its just very cool that it meshes so well when combined, meant to be !

I think spitituality is what we use to try and explain what little we know of the Universe on the Quantum level. Someday science will discover so many "miracles" within the context of connections between people, and perhaps greater beings, through the dimensions and alternate universes that exist in the Quantum realm. Spirituality and Science are truly one. What is the truth? I have no idea but it’s out there, or rather in there.

My spirituality has little to do with religion. It's the core of My being. It's what makes Me tick, and what makes Me whole. It's how I connect with the world around Me. Dear LaTigresse, Ladies and Gentlemen; My exposure to the lifestyle years ago in "my old day" had the incorporation of many elements; as well as what we (in general terms) borrow from. Imperial (Royal courts,etc); Military, Civilian and Religion. Each has elements of D/s, protocols and what is called "spirit of intent," to which is the motive of our intentions. We hear of "acting in good faith," "spirit of intent," to which relates on what we (in general terms) create as a "self" core religion, faith, spirituality, manifestation of our beliefs. The forces that tug inside, is good and evil per se, no different than struggles recorded in every known practices of religion, faith and or spirituality. From within that core our power exists. As we tune in, become more aware, the focus then is clearer in many areas, as the distractions are boxed and other senses and awareness step up. Our "intent" or "purpose" transmits from the spirit, to which is felt through our touch. Through whips and any other item we may touch, as it just is an extension. I demonstrate this power of making pain "moot" in the training academy classes to which I startle many students. It is our faith in what we belive to be possible, especially in healing and protection; to credit our Gods and or Good Spirits All and or angels -- Spirituality takes many forms and means different things to different people. All I know, is that I am a mere instrument of divine powers through which I can either behave in good faith and good intent or, evil. I choose to stay on the good of my nature. I know I am not a "God/Goddess" or an omnipotent power. I know my limits and take little credit for what I cannot explain but, know the results to be true, witnessed repeatedly without failure. I have great respects for all practices of the spirits, faith and those religions that heal, show compassion and empathy. Indeed, humans do twist known religions for their own agendas. This is proved throughout civilization, the Crusades, the Inquisition where they burned thousands of women and children into the ovens alive, to which the Nazi used but, at least the poor lads/lasses were dead by time they reached the ovens. My Spirituality is not connected to any denomination and/or religious sect. My sprituality is the base of who I am aside from my physical body. Although I would prefer a partner who has a simular outlook about their spirituality I think that spirituality is heathy when it is a personal journey for I believe it is always personal and an individualistic phenomenon, although people who wish to manipulate and control it say that it can only be "found" in a religious "family", sect or a certain place of worship. I think that when people in a relationship run along simular lines spiritually it greatly enhances and enriches the relationship. I also believe that they can have different stances on what spirituality means to them and how they internally foster their growth and can spiritually walk two different paths but still remain on the same road and maintain a heathy sound accepting relationship. I believe spirituality is for each person's individual journey and growth so no matter what spiritual path the other individual(s) is/are on, both paths can each still be respected as such and in turn enhance the relationship as a whole. It's my philosophy that we may interpret and follow spirituality/religion differently but really in the end it is only our ignorance of it all being the same energy that makes some feel their way is the only way. This fallacy has caused much blood shed thoughout history, very sadly for me and I think totally unnecessary, but for some it has come to mean power, corruption and to use it as an excuse for torture and murder and has for many, been lost within the individual. Hope I made some sense, spiritually at times has no words to describe it that another will understand. *Brightspot

Hellooooo!! I have been following what some of my favourite ladies have written here and trying to not interject or colour the replies I got. I am so excited to read thru all you have written. All of you express much of my own feelings and beliefs. I have never had the opportunity to investigate the Wiccan path but am now very interested. I don't think I can ever be a part of something that requires membership and lots of meetings etc...but perhaps it will have something that will help guide me when I flounder feeling lost and all discombobulated. I know that I am very very connected to nature, earth, and often feel, dream, and hear other presenses ( NOOOO, not the little voices! ) its more of a non physical as we usually think of it. It's just that getting caught up in a busy life surrounded by other energies I sometimes lose focus and that inner strength that I need to feel at peace inside. Anyway, thank you all so much!

I would say that my religious beliefs are a combination of lots of influences. Recovering baptist, jewish, methodist, zen, buddist, tao, indian beliefs, healing herb and crystals. So in all that usually just makes me confused.
