Not reading all 30zillion pages, just a general comment... I always find it really bloody weird the way people treat mods. People somehow see them having the power to delete things and silence people and assume this makes them the forum's equivalent of a police officer. They're not; they're the forum's equivalent of a janitor. Really, it's a long thankless task of clearing shit up and making the place bearable. I don't see why anyone expects fairness or reasonableness, this is the internet and nothing you post counts for anything anyway.

(not picking on you, making a point) I understand your point, and heaven knows I flirt and derail and put in jokes (and Quotes of the Day) and such.... I also find the 3 pages of banter annoying too. But I still want to be able to do it! It's a conundrum, it is.

I said earlier that I do it myself, but only once or twice, because then it gets excessive and rude, so I stop. I have nothing against an occasional sidebar (I thought I said that), it's when they go on and on that I think is inapproropriate. And I think you'd be hard pressed to find an example of me doing that.
