I learned about fertility in depth from Dr. Christiane Northrup in "Women's Body, Women's Wisdom" and in 10+ years of avoiding unprotected sex around ovulation did not become pregnant. For 5 pregnancies to occur, I expect you and your wife were missing some crucial information.

Like the condom goes over the penis and not wrapped around the nuts like a rubber band. [8D]

Five girls.

This makes me wonder what sort of rhythm method it is to have only the Y chromosome in play there.

I actually know this one... THe timing was off by a couple of days.

The XY carrying sperm tend to live longer than the boy ones. That means that they probably had sex a few days before ovulation thinking it was still safe.

I don't know how I know that...

Well I'm glad that there is someone else here as dumb as me, even if they aren't quite as dumb as me.

But that is truly some good information.

While I'm here, thanks also for that good input on how much of the world get's along with birth control without benefit of 'the pill.'

PS

And that last explanation of yours tells us why the world is 51-52% wimmins. You girls cheat is why!

I'm confused why you quoted me and then you addressed Music Mystery who brought up a completely different point.

She also ignored the solution I offered, preferring a backlash.

In short, not a reasoned action.

I pressed reply on musicmystery's post. I don't know why it addressed you but it said on the bottom of the screen that it was in response to him when I was sending it. ::shrugs::

It may be that someone was naughty and got a post removed from inbetwixt youse.

And thats the name of that tune.

MistressRayvyn -> RE: The Pill- What if it was never invented? (6/23/2011 3:28:00 PM)

I wouldn't call my reaction to you backlashing. There was nothing violent in my wording. I also didn't consider what you said to be a solution, but I thank you for your feedback- however presumptuous and indirect it was.

kalikshama -> RE: The Pill- What if it was never invented? (6/23/2011 3:36:56 PM)

Nice explanation Sunny!

As I am on a 6 week cycle, the rhythm method as described here would never work for me: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rythm_method

I am sure many failures are attributable to women not having exact 28 day cycles. A woman needs to know when SHE is ovulating, not where she is on a 28 day calendar.

Edwynn,
I'm not sure if you are kidding here or not. I don't know what you mean by any of this, so I'm going to presume you are being serious. The part I will address is the "much of the world" part. I once lived in So. America, where the pill was hard to come by for a large majority of the population, The place was teeming with Latin Lovers, too. EVERYBODY was getting busy... We western women were just shocked by the amount of anal sex that was just ... presumed. There was a good bit of art around about it as well. We talked about how this is simply birth control. Even our lovers said the same thing.

best,
sunshine

I believe he is referring to the longer-lived XY sperm...

My apologies. Yes, with the first sentence I was just being silly.

But what you say makes sense. There are over a billion people in the world living on $1.25 or less per day, so the cost of the pill would eat that up in no time.
