I never saw Gore as evil.

And I agree with that too... infant mortality is still too high.

I was making fun of PA and his stuff about Gore. From my standpoint, lowering the infant mortality rate is an unqualified good.

Be careful with the "unqualified". There are many ways to reduce the infant mortality rate that would be even bigger intrusions on women's rights than repealing RvW. The US infant mortality rate is higher than other developed countries because of lifestyle/parenting choices. Try and legislate those choices away!

The answer is to go out and find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them and send them up the river, too."

And that quote was from where???  You heard this? You have a copy of this? Is it from a web site? Second hand?

I am not an avid listener of Rush but I have hear him comment on this and he has said, simply produce the tape where he said it? He has the most recorded radio show in the history of the nation so I simply ask, is there an actual recording of this on the internet?

His site only archives for a month.

Use the Website Archive links below to visit the homepage -- or the Audio Archives link to view the Audio Page -- for a specific day in the past month. You can also download entire shows as MP3s, and watch the Dittocam Video streams with Windows Media Player or RealPlayer. I dont care for Rush.  He is a phony.     In some ways he is just as bad as Gore.

He said it on on his TV show in 1995. His website only archives for a month, not exactly what you claimed. It is quoted quite extensively around the web and I found no denial from Rush that he said it.

pahunkboy -> RE: Gore promoting fewer children to curb pollution (6/23/2011 9:01:28 PM)

It sounds like something he would say.   I used to have to listen to him at work when the FM did not work... and we only got AM in.

well the repubs are trying to make sure women of the US get preggers and force them to have the children
where does the madness stop?

Lucy, can you please explain this to me? I haven't seen a single republican (or democrat, to be fair) advocating, suggesting, begging or forcing any woman in the US or elsewhere to get pregnant, nor am I aware of any law or active bill that would force those women to have the child if she does get pregnant.

Could you point me to some information regarding your statement?

Well, Im not Lucy... but...

Trying to shut down Planned Parenthood which would deny millions of women access to birth control... other than abortions.

Wanting to deny women the right to abortions

Consistently targeting those programs designed to help women and children.

Lucylastic -> RE: Gore promoting fewer children to curb pollution (6/23/2011 10:20:19 PM)

Not really, I spoke in a doom laden sarcastic fashion using hyperbole to get my point across because of a previous post. If you would like to discuss the fallout from 900+ bills out there in lawyer land planning to cut women's rights over their family planning, health and childrens services, then go right ahead, otherwise Im not really interested in playing semantics

To get this straight, you apparently have no issue with a VP coming into office and loading up the bank account of  the oil services company he just worked for by starting a war which we are still trying to extricate ourselves from and will be paying upon for decades hence, all while on the taxpayer's dole.

And while we're at it, Cheney flies on at least as many private jets as Gore does.

But a VP who makes his money -after- leaving office and with out direct hit to taxpayers obviously galls you no end.

Should we pay Biden a bonus and send him off to a war-making mission somewhere? While we still have him on the clock? That would seem to be more to your liking.

While I totally support PP and what they do. I have to wonder about this. I have know a lot of women who have used birth control and none of them have gotten it from PP. They have all gone to their private doctor for the script. Now if they were going to make birth control illegal I could understand the statement, but from what I have read that is not the case. So how is this forcing them to be pregnant? Why can't they go to their doctor for the pill?

Oh and just for the record. Not all repubs are pro-life and not all dems are pro-choice.

In the US, they can also go their county health department for birth control and 'well woman check-up.' (I think that is what the health insurance companies are calling it now.)

Not to mention that nobody is trying to "shut down" PP. If they are so valuable Im sure they can find plenty of private funding.

Better tell that to the Indiana legilsature and Governor. They seem to have passed a law designed expressly to shut down PP. Also check in with the Kansas government which just promulgated new regulations designed to shut down PP as well.

Are you really that clueless? PP clinics are quite often the only option for birth control for women on Medicaid or completely without insurance. You are of course welcome to google "indiana planned parenthood" and find out for yourself.

I said everyone I know on BC got it from their doctor. You said "Because PP is their doctor?"

If you had read my post you wouldn't have asked such a stupid question but I can understand why you can't admit you were wrong.

Now your going to change it to Indiana. So they don't have doctors in Indiana that accept medicaid or they don't have doctors in Indiana that give out birth control? Or maybe medicaid patients are only allowed to go to PP there.
