Inspired by Peon's thread -- http://www.collarchat.com/m_3747031/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm#3747735 -- which is inspired by ANOTHER thread -- http://www.collarchat.com/m_138353/tm.htm -- from 6 years ago, i figured i'd start a satellite over here since i've seen MDoms say "i don't go over there" in regards to "ask a Mistress." it's a nice topic for lots of musing, if you're into musing, that is. =p What motivates you? I wanted to contribute to this thread and provide some kind of deep insight into the nature of dominants, but I am afraid I don't do very well anymore with the "why" questions. The only answer I have is that it just feels right and natural. When I am with a girl who is submissive to me, I get to be my "true self" with nothing held back. I try not think much beyond that. I might ruin a good thing [;)]

I can tell you what The Man's told me. Controlwise, it drives him crazy to stand by while other people are less competent at a task than he is. He just takes over and people do as they're told because everyone recognizes he knows what he's doing. Beyond that, he steamrolls you before you realize it. Topping, he gets energy from my reactions. He feeds off it. A good energy vampire if you will. He also sees bondage as an artistic expression - him as the artist and the rope and my body his paints and canvas. And of course, it gets him hard.

Dominant: Because I don't know any other way to be. Top: I'm just exploring this now but it seems to fit well with the whole primal sex thing. Granted, what we do is not currently very elaborate in terms of widgets, geegaws, and high technology, but when it's my beast mating her bitch then top energy is what fits.
