Thanks for the suggestion marie, it's good to post it incase others reading hadn't thought of that

Pavane, thanks for that suggestion too and we did use exactly that...still do actually for the time being, but after feeling what that was like it made us want to get something very similar but with a few changes.  It does look pretty though and all the punk rockin' kids at the highschool I walk past to go to work think I'm cool now LOL

Just a thought about collars with real locks on them (especially ones made of steel).  I guess someone has already covered this but I cant help but mention the possible dangers if this is to be worn as an everyday collar.  Imagine having to remove it in the case of an accident or the person needing some type of medical attention to their neck or throat area.

As an alternative, you could always choose something with a clasp of some sort and hang a lock *pendant* on it. (Not the same feeling, I know)  but something to think about.

For pete's sake...now simply wearing a collar is going to kill you.  We hit one another!

The only real risk I'd see is if the individual worked in a press, or industrial plant where there are machines or equipment where the collar could easily catch.  Most plants with a good industrial hygenist actually prohibit wearing things like neck jewelry, ties, etc that will not break away when pulled.

I'm sorry, but as a paramedic who has done street work for 10+ years, the collar thing is really not a huge dilemma.  If it's truly in the way and life threatening, we'll cut it off with bolt cutters.  And I'm sure the owner won't care.....if they have the life of their property to be thankful for.  The collar can be replaced; the human life cannot.

If my head goes through a windshield, and my neck is cut, or worse yet I have broken vertabrae,  I dont want to wait for someone to have to cut through steel in order to tend to my neck, or possible make the injury worse doing so.  But thats just me.  Its up to the individual if they want to have steel locked around their neck 24/7.

That's not going to stop you from one, being extricated from a vehicle or two, being placed into a cervical immobilizer -- unless of course, you have a pillory or a spreader bar welded to it LOL

Is this melodramatic day on CM?

You're kidding, right?  It would be easier to count the non-melodramatic days here.

God...haha thanks, I'm clostrophobic enough, and i wear everyday all  day a stainless steel locked collar, ya know the kind that closes with an allen wrench, cept its too small for a normal allen wrench..I freak out sometimes sit down and lift it up off of my neck, so its not touching my skin..just cause. It gets hot and when i get sick thank god Master takes it off. I';m ranting sorry its just that it brought up my exact feelings on the locking collar thing, but then again i feel the same about being in a cage thats locked. There is a stephen king book out there called "geralds game" about a guy who cuffs his wife to the bed in a naughty game, only to have a heart attack and die at the foot of their bed, keys in hand...on a lake, off season in Maine, no one around for miles...no one due for weeks...ya get the point im sure.
For my locking collar, and peice of mind, Master lets me carry a key, in my purse at all times, and ONLY in an emergency situation can i remove it without His help. I have never had a problem. I also figure that if the hospital can;t get my collar off , then they shouldnt be anywhere near my neck...Bolt cutters would work

Was that a joke?  Or did you just misspell it?  It asked me for a username & password and appears to be about the 'sub' sandwiches  lol

And for the clostrophobic miss who posted above me here, is there any way you could maybe wear a bracelet or anklet rather than a collar since it makes you worry?  Or has having the key on you at all times solved that problem?  If you haven't discussed it before, maybe you wanna bring it up, unless being worried is adding to the fun...something makes me think it just might

www.lionshearth.com is where  I got 3 of mine, not a huge lot of variety but the woman makes them all herself and can customize them as you'd like (within reason). Just ask. She's very nice and quite prompt in delivery :)

stef,

S-M Factory's locking rope collar looks awesome.

Slowly, but surely I'm going to go through all the links posted on this thread.

Someone else, not sure who it was had posted a link for lionshearth. They also have  some nice collars there.  (I saw the post scroll by as I was checking email, and by the time I checked the site, I lost the poster's name--I apologize.)

Hi there.

Your helpful poster didn't quite give you the correct web address. It is www.sub-shop.com, which is the "sister" sales site for www.bdsmtoybox.com. I have used www.bdsmtoybox.com for five or six orders over here in the UK, and have never been disappointed.

And while I'm recommending webstores, www.top-to-bottom-leathers.co.uk is also fabulous (and has two or three beautiful collars).

Happy to see other people going through the links too, hopefully this topic helps a lot of people find the perfect collar

www.water-hole.com
uses all Lockable Buckles that accept padlocks.
also make alot of custom collars with locking pins these are less bulky than the buckles but it has to be locked that is the nonly way it stays on.
