No, wilbur, I just think it is ironic that a so called teacher uses text speak to upbraid someone elses understanding of the English language. Maybe you feel different (there was a thread sometime back in off topic) but I feel that 'text speak' shows at least a lack of sophistication and laziness if not outright ignorance. Im certain that the far left liberal fringe says it is ok to teach it in our schools but I don't.

She even tells you that directly with her frequent taunting closing comments about "u", which HLH promptly rewarded. I find it a far better indicator of "lack of sophistication" when a teacher who is apparently attempting to avoid net-speak still butchers grammar and spelling. Flcouple is the poster child. I usually eschew apostrophes and sometimes other punctuation or capitalization because its a pain in the ass. BFD. It isnt a business letter or academic exercise.

I dunno wilbur. I don't think it is intentional. Every post of hers that I have read is the same mishmash of third/fourth grade level grammar and spelling. Maybe it eats me because I used to teach and students learned really fast not to turn something in that looked like that or they would get to repeat a class. I've asked her a couple of times and never gotten a response. As for punctuation and capitalization and occasional slang. I'm guilty of that as well.
