David Lee, Embattled UNVA Chancellor, Revealed To Have Sex Dungeon

The chancellor of the controversial University of Northern Virginia has been up to some interesting extracurricular activities.

The Smoking Gun reported that David Lee (who is also chairman of the board of trustees) has a sex dungeon in his basement and placed an online ad as for a "sex slave" on collarme.com.

The Smoking Gun has more:

64-year-old Lee...and his girlfriend recently advertised online seeking "attractive submissive" women who "wish to be part of our poly family. Ideally you will consider yourself a slave or a sub with slave tendencies."

[...]

The couple's profile included an assortment of photos showing them in a variety of, um, poses. In two pictures, Lee is placing a flame near the body of a naked woman wearing a bondage mask. In another photo, a shirtless Lee is seen flexing in a mirror. The pair noted in their collarme.com ad that, "We are in excellent health and in excellent shape."

The University of Northern Virginia has been the subject of scrutiny as of late after immigration and customs officials raided school, allegedly because of its questionable student visa policies.

Clearly the Time-Warner/Tuner Sports and Entertainment website, thesmokinggun.com, has gone too far.

It is one thing to investigate someones board room activities if their organization is receiving federal funds.

But it is outrageous and a clear invasion of privacy to investigate someones bed room activities.

HisPet21 -> RE: College Chancellor -Sex Dungeon (8/3/2011 4:51:11 PM)

Jesus...what's with everyone having their panties up in a bunch over M/s, D/s, and poly? I agree with marsman.

littlewonder -> RE: College Chancellor -Sex Dungeon (8/3/2011 8:44:12 PM)

I don't have a problem with his lifestyle obviously but if you're a chancellor of a school, don't post your face photos all over your CM profile. Imo, that's just simply not very bright unless you really don't care what will happen to your life if a student comes across it or a parent or anyone else for that matter as he's now seeing.

Wanna post your photo? Go for it but then don't be surprised or shocked when it's all over the news eventually.

What is with you people here on this site? Supposedly each member of this site joined because we believe in our right to communicate or become involved with others who are involved in or interested in BDSM practices, and yet you are talking about how he doesn’t have the same rights you all do?
This man and his girlfriend have every right to engage in what ever consensual sex they want to, and that includes searching for, advertize for or meet other adults with mutual consensual interests in the privacy of their home if that is what they want.
Plus, I notice that doing a search by his real name , and occupation do not bring up any profiles for them on Collarme.com Which means that Time-Warner/Tuner Time Sports and Entertainment website , thesmokinggun.com clearly invaded their privacy by giving out PRIVATE information about their perfectly legal activities was a clear violation of their privacy.
Trying to link their private activities with the unrelated fact that the University of Northern Virginia (but not the Chancellor himself) has been the subject of scrutiny as of late after immigration and customs officials raided the school, allegedly because of its questionable student visa policies, is the worst kind of cheap and improper journalism possible because it is flagrantly and deliberately misleading.
We have recently seen one media giant fall in Europe because of illegal and improperly gained and used private internet information.
What I would like to know is how they identified or knew which profile belonged to him? Because I doubt very much if collarme.com verified or identified the profile as belonging to him. Maybe it is time to take a serious look at how and why Time Warner gathers and prints what they are publishing.
Oh and saying that he (the Chancellor) should be held to some special standard because of his profession is ludicrous. This article served no other purpose than an attempt at sensationalism that violated his right to privacy.
If and I do mean If they had been able to show that they had ever in engaged in or been involved in some illegal sexual activity with a student this information could be appropriate to expose, especially IF that student was underage, and believe me if there was any evidence of either of these possibilities it would have been in the article, but they ( Time Warner Tuner Time Sports and Entertainment website) very carefully avoided a multi million $ legal slander suit by not making even a hint of either such possibility. Which means this stories only purpose was its so called shock or smear value to sell their product to the public even though they could show no improper or illegal activity on the Chancellors part.
The thing that bothers me is how many other site members will Time Warner choose to expose simply for a similar shock value while invading mine as well as your privacy. Most of you, like the Chancellor when he joined the site used a screen name because you want your privacy protected, but Time Warner doesn’t think privacy is a right, is his right to privacy any less important than yours?
Condemn Time Warner’s invasion of privacy, not another site members right to privacy when he joins the site to satisfy his similar interests in BDSM just like you have.

I can't understand how for some people profit can be much important, than others lives. *sigh*
Although i can't understand it either, why others care about the private life of others in such a bad way.
He is still the same regardless of his kinks, isn't he?

Maybe i'm just too idealistic. n.n

I would like to believe, that i don't have to hide myself on the internet too.
That others have better thing to do, than this.

This, if you are working in such a job, it's just stupid to plaster your face on your profile on a kinky site that's accessible to everybody. Not everybody will like it and if can influence your career, don't do it. Getting high in Amsterdam is not illegal, but you'd be damned stupid to post a picture of you smoking weed on your FB where your employer, neighbours, colleagues, parents, etc. might be able to see it. Just because it's not illegal doesn't mean it's a good enough reason to do it.

Missokyst -> RE: College Chancellor -Sex Dungeon (8/4/2011 8:43:28 AM)

I think the idea of sexuality dangerous in the minds of many. Many of my friends are in law enforcement, or they are nurses or teachers and each of them is paranoid (perhaps justifiably so) that any mention of kink might leak out into their workspace. I have seen contracts where things like moral turpitude are sited as reasons they must maintain a higher degree of privacy. A bit of research revealed that there are many things which can be violated as long as the reputation of the employer is not tainted. I think we can have a room full of weapons and people would be less freaked out than if they thought the home owner might be sticking a cigar into someones snatch.

It would be nice to live in a world where sexuality is not such a hot button, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. Every year I see new people who are willing to put their face or body on a profile on Facebook, or a fetish site and I wonder if they consider how invasive companies might be about sexuality. Perhaps though if people pushed to be more open it might be less of an issue a few decades from now.

LadyConstanze -> RE: College Chancellor -Sex Dungeon (8/4/2011 8:49:26 AM)

A body might be a little less of a danger to be identified, as your employer usually hasn't seen you in undies or bondage gear. Full face shot on a site where anybody can stumble over it, even if the climate was different it possibly would not be the smartest idea ever...

Charles6682 -> RE: College Chancellor -Sex Dungeon (8/6/2011 9:31:03 AM)

I have seen first hand just how the media will use lies and rumors to get people to read thier paper or watch their news channel. So they were looking for immigration violations and some how find that this guy enjoys kink on the side.If he did anything illegal, that would have been 1 thing. However, from all I see is yet again someones reputation being destroyed by the drive by media.Once again,BDSM is reserved for the freaks at night who can't really be consenting, responsible adults.

LadyConstanze -> RE: College Chancellor -Sex Dungeon (8/6/2011 4:24:32 PM)

If you are having a job that involves moral conduct or is in the public eye, you don't plaster your face on a kink website, simple as that.

How do you think they found out about him? My guess is that a student or a member of staff who was pissed off and stumbled across his profile and tipped the media off, something that could have easily been avoided by not flashing their faces around. Look, in most countries in Europe prostitution is legal, though I doubt a politician would be stupid enough to pose for pictures with a lady who charges for time, same goes for a bank manager. Does everybody think that those guys are familiar with those services and have used them? Of course, but there is a difference between that and flying it in the face of the public...

Epytropos -> RE: College Chancellor -Sex Dungeon (8/10/2011 7:17:35 PM)

Obviously it was stupid of him to plaster that up on the web, but at the same time he has a right to it and he shouldn't be treated like a freak for having preferences different from the norm. If he turned out to be gay would people still treat him like a pariah then?

If being gay is still considered beyond the norm then yes and if you don't want to be out as gay and take the chance of being fired from your job then don't be public about it. It really is that simple.

Is it right? That's up to you to decide but in the business world if you have something about your personal life that the rest of the world sees as less than normal then don't post it all over the web for the world to see. That's the business world. If you don't like it then don't get involved in the business world. That's how it is.

Now if you want to change that perception then be open about it. Be public about it. Make your thoughts and views known, but then don't come back and cry that the world is burning you at the stake. It comes with the job.

LillyBoPeep -> RE: College Chancellor -Sex Dungeon (8/10/2011 7:36:15 PM)

i think it's sad that this is happening, and people will use his proclivities to smear him. he'll probably resign or something like that. i'm glad the comments on thesmokinggun.com are mostly supportive of his privacy.
i totally get that having your face on a site like this is probably bad if you're a known person; like it or not, in the world we currently live in, kinkiness is "cool" as long as you're just talking about it with your friends, not actually doing. =p people still look at kinky folks as if there's something really wrong, so... you know... that's just the world we live in.

it's sad, though.

Iamsemisweet -> RE: College Chancellor -Sex Dungeon (8/10/2011 8:29:02 PM)

I wish more people would be willing to take the stand that their sex lives are nobody's business but their own, as long as what they do is legal and consensual. That, over time, would cause society to be more sex friendly.
Like that Congressman wiener guy. Who HASN'T sent or received pictures of somebody's dick? It happens all the time. Yet, he acted as if it was the most shameful thing on earth, and ended up having to resign. He might still be a congressman if he had just said, yep that's my dick, what's it to ya? Instead, he came across as a pathetic, lying wimp.

As others have said, many positions involve morality clauses, especially in the education fields. So no, he doesn't have the same "rights" as any one else. Other careers that have stated or implied moral conduct clauses include lawyers, judges and yep, politicians. Doesn't matter if the person likes bondage games or cheats on their spouse. Both will get them fired.

What makes you think your information on this site is private? This is a public, free website. Unless you specifically hide your profile, it is open for anyone to look at and theoretically, report on. If you post a face pic, then don't be surprised if someone finds it and "outs" you. If you have a morals clause in your employment contract, don't be surprised if you lose your job, and don't think you have a wrongful termination case either. You will have violated the contract and suffer the consequences.

Yea, after all...we all know all kinksters are all immoral. What is worse cybersluts...a 'family's value' married, congressman flying to Argentina to see his mistress or this ? Now you get the idea of the outlandish hypocrisy and shameful voyeurism in our ignorant, perverted society.

DesFIP -> RE: College Chancellor -Sex Dungeon (8/11/2011 5:40:17 AM)

He used the school's computers to post ads and surf here. That's just stupid. He might as well have shouted it out to the world. Immigration found it while investigating him, but any IT guy at the college who disliked him could have outed him just as easily.
