"I give a fuck because? "

You have to go to the bank and deposit $33 or you will be hit with overdraft charges. Thanks for the help but you are wiped out.

Maybe I'll change my password.

T^T

mnottertail -> RE: password update?? (8/5/2011 3:57:32 PM)

LOL, if you got $33 outta my bank account thats about 32.87 more than I could get out of it.

Hope you dont pay alot for long distance.

LC
Not everyone is as net-savvy as you and I.
I have no problem with CM asking users to change their passwords. While it is an unusual request, and tends to indicate some sort of breech, a password reset is generally a good thing.
It's been a while since I read CM's TOS but I'm pretty sure they reserve the right to "share" information with whomever they see fit.
I don't know for a fact that selling e-mail addresses is illegal anywhere. That would be news to a lot of e-mail marketing firms.
I'm very familiar with XOBNI - it can only operate on the e-mail address you provide.
I suspect you and I do a similar amount of compartmentalization when it comes to our respective social netwoking activities.

The bottom line is that this was handled very poorly. It would be easy to write a script to harvest login ID's, generate cookies, login and update the password. And then just for the fun of it, delete the account. Now wouldn't you love to stop by the next morning to find no trace of your CM account? Not the end of the world but damn would that ever suck. Just sayin'...

Like so many others you confuse price with value.
It's not my problem that CM uses slave labor to build/maintain their site.
We all some some information that we choose to keep private and CM is doing nothing to help.

And I have offered my services - no response over the years.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR...........

....well you could ask for a refund of your membership fees.....

I think I just said this yesterday butttttt.........Dude........ this place is run by UNPAID VOLUNTEERS........

have patience........state the problem then stop before inserting foot in mouth...how about YOU donate your expertise in offering to help out....there is a button for that.......

Seriously.....you afraid somebody is going to steal your paddle count....your secret cm notes....your wank list.......

How about THANK YOU.....Gracious Mod Rho or every Helpful Caring Mod 21.......?

Back to your regularly scheduled program...this has been a public service announcement from a cranky chick with attitude.......this has ben a personal statement and should in no way reflect back on the Geogurt manufacturing or packaging corp.........

I am not surprised that they didn't want you volunteering, they possibly want to keep their other people sane... Though despite you calling it slave labour, you seemed to be quite eager to offer your services and you act all butt hurt that they didn't want you (why oh why not... you have such a positive attitude how can anybody not want you?)

The information I want to keep private is not on CM - how's that for a practical solution?

As for confusing value with price, if you don't find it valuable enough for the price, nobody holds you to a contract here, or even better, if you got all the skills and you find this site so lacking, do a better one.

Then I guess you wouldn't mind if I login to you profile and see all the messages you've sent/recieved, get the e-mail address you used, and generally cause whatever sort of hayhem I can.
Not really a problem, my cmails are generally just continuations of silliness or arguments from here. Any sent or recieved that contain any important information are saved and deleted.

The email I used to sign up? I couldn't care less who knows that address, I don't actually use that one for anything other than signing up for stuff. And hayhem? (I'm assuming you mean mayhem)...well it's not like you could really do me much harm, I mean you might get the Arpig account moderated, or piss off an army of subs who weren't going to serve me anyway.

quote:

Maybe I can gather enough info to determine your real name, where you live, work, etc.
Nope, not from accessing my CollarMe account, none of that information is there, though you could from reading my various posts over the years.

Sorry, but nobody is responsible for protecting you from your own stupidity. If you don't take the most basic steps to protect yourself and you have any of that information available in your CM account, I'm sorry, but you deserve to be taken.

quote:

Do all your friends, family, and acquaintences know you're into this "lifestyle"?
Most of them, the one's who don't...well it just hasn't come up. I don't usually associate with the sort of people who would care.

If CM can't even do basic web security
They did. You had to log in with a valid ID & password to get the change password screen.

Speaking as a paranoid schizophrenic...it is. It's also an over-inflated assessment of the importance of what goes on here. It's a dating site Dave...a meat market.

I'm not even that net savy, just your average user, most people around have used the net for a few years or have grown up with it, seriously, if you sign up for anything you don't want to advertise, you create a 2nd or 3rd email, you get that forwarded, it really isn't rocket science. I mean even if they would sell my email address - spam filter would get most of it, nobody would get much out of it.

Look, this is an adult website, it's not too much to ask that the people who sign up act like adults and are responsible, it's the equivalent of a married man paying for the services of an escort with a credit card, when the wife does the books. People need to step up and be responsible for what they do...

Btw I monitor the account I use for CM - I would have noticed if the address was sold on, though I do not get any spam trying to sell me kinky stuff, apart from the usual "generic viagra" (I must be looking a bit old) and breast enhancing treatments (last thing I need) to all sorts of fake watches... I don't think it's CM, I think it's just general spam

Unless you deliberately misspelt something.

Mine are part numbers, try to figure that out.

Actually she's smart enough to pay tax for you, so you can live in sheltered housing and have a nurse caring for you, so you can dream about being a success in the business while knowing fuck all about marketing or online marketing. Take your meds, at least some people pay for that and your nurse and you can go on spamming how unfair life is and everybody is out to get you and make up a few more lies about who you met, the places you've been, the experience you have. Isn't care in the community a wonderful thing?

Btw how's that marvelous forum of yours going? You know the one where it's you, yourself and you having all those brilliant conversations?

ETA: I don't buy the hide and unhide thing you claim, you weren't even able to block people a while ago - your own words - and all that from an online specialist, one who's obviously not even able to figure out a rather easy and user friendly interface like CM - and let's not get into your "educated" ideas about clout and such...

Umm, how would that work, since you have to be logged in with your old password to get to the change password screen?
Also, you can't instantly delete an account here, so your scenario of stopping by and finding no trace of your CM account can't happen.

Termyn8or -> RE: password update?? (8/6/2011 12:26:52 AM)

"LOL, if you got $33 outta my bank account thats about 32.87 more than I could get out of it."

Sounds like you got your shit together.

I had enoungh in there for the monthly fees, no problem. But then all the sudden was an inactivity fee. They said there was no activity for X months so there was a fee for that. FUCK YOU. They sent me ONE statement covering five months. The two bucks a month I would pay, for the convenience, but the ten buck inactivity fee, FUCK YOU. I HAVE TO PAY YOU BECAUSE I DO NOT MAKE IT NECESSARY FOR YOU TO DO ANYHING AT ALL ?

So much for that. About CM security, did anyone get me them launch codes by now ?

T^T

hannah im gonna be serious for a mo

can you blame some people

loads people go around thinking they own the place

you have apparent newbies kicking off old grudges who are obv not newbies

its a public forum run like a private club by some

its gonna happen that with the number of people on the web are gonna get fed up with it but are also gonna have skill to do something about it

i have number of people on hide and have my ip sniffer on at all times now

then you have people who dont appear at top of screen as online but obv are

for what reason lol the people who do that on alt use it to cause trouble

and then you have some senior members doing everything possible to cause friction

i know its a game im not stupid and many more are not stupid either

soulKnife -> RE: password update?? (8/6/2011 7:00:28 AM)

UGH the stupid thing kept saying that I wasn't matching the verification code...because i was using capital letters! the image was in capital letters, that is so dumb. If you want to make it case sensitive it should be the same case that the letters actually are on screen. Otherwise just do a simple .toLowercase() on the input screen if what you are checking it against is always lowercase... </vent>

David, it's not a public forum and somebody DOES own the place. Those owners ALLOW people to post here if they follow the Terms of Service that are posted and easy to read, and those who do not follow those terms are asked, usually several times, to start following them. If they do not, then they are booted out, but it takes a lot to get booted out permanently, at least under the current ownership and management. :)

Every site on the internet is owned by someone, and they can manage it the way they wish. They PAY for the domain space and name, they PAY for the software programs that we use, they PAY their programmers and technical support. WE don't have to pay anything. Think about it.

It's open to the public, but it's not a free-for-all. Think about it. The public libraries are public, but you can't go in there and do whatever you want, can you???

You have the option and ability to do that too, it's in the settings.
