For me the *quality* of toughness, *where it is to be found*, is the same in women as it is in men. But there are likely to be fewer female toughies around than there are male toughies. On account of socialisation, in patriarchal societies. It is a *gender neutral* quality. I hope that's now clear? . . . Though, I have a horrible suspicion it already was clear to you.

Only thing: 'snarky' is wrong. Just wrong. It sounds like someone trying to be sarcastic with a blocked nose. 'Sarky' is what's called for.

Absolutely. The written word is quite different. Maybe a wee slip of a woman can get away with being all kinds of a gobshite to a bigger bloke, especially one who's 'muscle bound', when face to face with him. He might even find it cute . . . .

Me, people tell me I should smileys far more frequently. Some people really can't see it when I'm teasing. But smileys ruin it for me, unfortunately.
