ResidentSadist: Maybe you are not from the English speaking world, and this explains why you don’t understand what a time waster is? Or maybe (more probably) you just require others to think for you: A time waster: Is anyone who is dishonest about their intentions, and who utilises this dishonesty to waste others time (by wrongly-falsely building up their expectations).

Don't be an ass about language with me . . . in English, being "dishonest about their intentions" is a being a liar.  We all face lies almost everyday and most probably waste relatively little time on them.  I know I don't waste my time on fakes at CollarMe . . . do you?  Nonetheless, someone can be honest and have good intentions and still be a time waster.  It's a matter of perspective, which was the very point of my original reply.  What is a time waster to you may not be for someone else, so why do you get to rate them?  My view of submission is much more extreme then the majority on this forum.  I think most of the submissives here are really "not-so-subby" by my standards.  Should I be allowed to rank them as fakes?

So don't try and get snarky with me son, and don't bring a knife to gun fight.  If you have a valid counterpoint, make it now.  If you really feel there is some universal scale that applies to everyone that will fit on a ranking meter, show me how dude.  If you think something, other than experience, will sort the genuine from the fakes on the internet, then make your point instead of further displaying the foolish logic that has earned you the mockery and admonishment you received so far.

I think you are fake because your premiss is so far off base, anyone that was "real", with real world experience wouldn't feel that way.  I think you are some noob that is pissed off because YOU wasted your time "building up your expectations" while talking with fakes that others with real experience would have avoided in the first place.  Should I be allowed to rank you as a time wasting faker?

SweetieinControl -> RE: Should Collar Me Introduce Ratings? (8/25/2011 10:42:21 AM)

A rating system would be a horrible idea.

Sounds like you've gotten burned.  A rating system wouldn't protect you like you think it would.

....the only one who can protect your heart is you.

have your own rating system, but otherwise for the rest of us, no bloody way, what a waste of time and energy.
If you leave your brain at the door when you come in here more than once, then maybe you are too idiotic to own a computer.
You learn from experience and experience often includes making mistakes and getting hurt.
Otherwise I have some body size bubble wrap you could use , to save you from lifes little bumps and scratches.
downside is there are no breathing holes and wont save your brain from getting fucked

To everyone saying “no” you are clearly in the majority, and for this reason your opinion should prevail. But given "the world is what you make of it" don’t blame anyone else when someone discusses their fantasies with you over a period of weeks-months, arranges to meet up with you, and never shows up. But do feel sorry for the next person they move onto as they enjoy their selfishness & masturbation!

The thing is...who are you to label if people have false intentions or not? It might totally someone else's cup of tea to discuss things online and never meet. Also, who says that this person who did this with you is going to do it with the next person? Maybe you weren't what they wanted in the end. People are entitled to change their mind after all.

I take the view that anyone who discusses sexual fantasy is looking for a wank, be it over weeks/months or whatever. It's a transitory exchange. If you got something different out of it then maybe you are the false one. See how that works? You'd honestly want anyone on here to have an open forum in talking about you? Ew...if you can't see the issues in having something like that then I predict you'll be hurt many more times until you figure out how this internet thing works.

You nailed your own problem! "The world is what you make of it".....so quit sitting on the freaking internet discussing your fantasies with people you don't know while they're wanking on the other end! Burned once, shame on them, but burned twice, same on you? Ever hear that? You made your own damn problematic world, you can blame no one but yourself.

By now, you should be suspicious of every single profile, especially the ones who seem to be oh-so-eager to share fantasies with you. When people sit in a chat box and "talk about our fantasies while we wank off", they already get their jollies, why should they meet you in person?

What you need to do is stop sniveling and whining and complaining, grow up and stop LETTING people waste your time.

I rate your idea -20.

coookie -> RE: Should Collar Me Introduce Ratings? (8/25/2011 12:03:20 PM)

No, i think people should use their heads when corresponding with others on sites such as collarme. Good luck OP

LadyPact -> RE: Should Collar Me Introduce Ratings? (8/25/2011 12:08:34 PM)

No.  Good heavens.  You expect Mods to have time for all of this?

If there’s so many more (then just out of curiosity) which amongst them, is most alarming, to you?
Because, if you annoy me, I can make 30 profiles in about 10 minutes and use each one to give you a bad rating. All it would take is for you to disagree with me on a thread or delete my mail, or not send me pictures.
In fact, I might just do it to random people just for the Hell of it.

Now do you see why it is a stupid idea?

Also IP's are not unique to indivuals, they are often shared and recycled by ISPs, so if you ban one it won't actually stop the perpetrator because he can just get a new IP within 5 minutes, but you may well block a whole lot of other people. A little knowledge is, as they say a dangerous thing, and you have only the most cursory knowledge of how the Internet Protocol and IP adresses work.

Rochsub2009 -> RE: Should Collar Me Introduce Ratings? (8/25/2011 1:00:48 PM)

MedicalBoy1984,
Like so many others, I would vote "No" to your idea.

The problem that you identified is very real, but the solution is flawed (you even identified some of the flaws yourself).

The biggest problem is that many people would give others a bad rating simply because they didn't immediately come to their house and give them a blowjob, or because they didn't send them a portfolio of naked pictures.  Anyone who uses e-Bay understands how the rating system can be turned into a form of blackmail.  It is one of the worst aspects of e-Bay.

The reality is that there ARE people who use CollarMe simply to fulfill their fantasies on-line.  They have no intention of ever meeting anyone.  They simply want to masturbate while typing on computer.  Or they want to collect as many naked pictures as they can (so they can masturbate to them).  Or they want to get as many women as they possibly can to get naked for them in front of their webcam.

Most users who have been here for a while know that these people exist.  But do they have any less right to be here than you do?  Why shouldn't someone be allowed to simply fulfill their fantasies on-line?  Who says that they actually have to meet with you?

CM has it right (IMO).  They don't allow us to blacklist other users.  They know that "fake" is in the eyes of the beholder.

Rather than rating other users, why not simply go into CM with the understanding that different people have different reasons for being here, and that not all of them are going to be a good match for you.  If you take that approach, I think you'll find that your CM experience will be far less frustrating.

Good luck in your search.
-Roch

SoulAlloy -> RE: Should Collar Me Introduce Ratings? (8/25/2011 1:02:04 PM)

Nope, never mind being a logistical nightmare to manage effectively and weed out abuse, it just smacks of "I don't like you so no-one else should"

Experience is a bitter teacher as you only learn the lesson after the cock-up :(
As for thinking of the next person, think of the fake - all that time and energy wasted, a life of loneliness at shooting themselves in the foot (or indeed over the screen)

MasterSlaveLA -> RE: Should Collar Me Introduce Ratings? (8/25/2011 1:15:31 PM)

Psssst... hey, Sparky... this right here is your problem -- not the need for some stupid rating system...
