LadyHibiscus -> "Good Boy" (9/26/2011 8:59:08 AM)

Insomnia, I has it. So I was thinking yesterday about the things we say to each other, and how differently wired my female submissive friends are from me. Things get them wet that make me... well, you wouldn't like me when I'm angry.

I say "good boy" a lot. Why? Because my parrot LOVES it. He responds much better to it than "good brrrdie", though I say that too.

Never ever have I said "good boy" to an adult male. I offer lots of praise and thank you when it's merited, I am big on acknowledgement and appreciation. I am also very deeply rooted in the notion that I am an adult that works with other adults, and while the other adults might be serving me, they are not "lesser", and not to be patronized or condescended to (unless it's a scene thing, and temporary).

What do you mens think? Do you groove on the "good boy"?

Well I can't speak for the men, but I love it when people tell me I'm a good boi[:)]

i love to be called good boy when a Woman is domming me but not any other time, i find it patronising, but if i submitted to a Domme and became Her slave i would absolutely have no qualms about how She treated me, She would have ABSOLUTE AUTHORITY to do as She wished, i would not object, no matter how harsh or sadistic She was to wards me, as i would be Her property and as Her property would consent to forfeiting my rights to be treated with decency, unless She decided to do so

LaTigresse -> RE: "Good Boy" (9/26/2011 10:22:09 AM)

I rarely say 'good boy' to anyone/thing.......

The only males on the property are G.D. (he might get a little miffed at the phrase...[:D])

Quigley the cat (he could care less whether anyone thinks he is good or not...just keep the food dish full!)

And the two horses, Mo and Maj. (also, being good is not exactly their forte'......more so, avoiding being too bad, these days) generally don't hear it as there really isn't much training these days. Mostly just an enjoyable ride. The enjoyable part is where Mo tends to try and avoid being bad. That horse just LIVES to be bad.

The dogs are all female and they do hear "Good girl!".........when in fact they have done something they didn't really want to do but did it anyway.

With an s-type, I tend to use "Thank you" or "I really appreciate....... a lot" the most.

If I call someone a boy... I am typically playing, joking or being sarcastic. I have had one or two males that liked being called boy and in that case I have considered and occasionally have called them boy, but I am uncomfortable with it most the time. I simply don't like it. I want a relationship with a man, not a boy and at times can feel boy is demeaning.

If there are those that like to be called boy... I too, would like to hear why that is. What type of dynamics or kink they enjoy could play into it and I would like to understand some parts of why they like what they do. However, I don't see myself actively taking part at this point.

In the Leather tradition, the Sir/boy relationship is accepted, and there are well respected senior citizen boys...but I see that as a different thing entirely.

Well, I'm no boy, but my boy is and he loves being called boy. He's my boy, and I'm his girl. We switch and own each other, so the "boy/girl" thing works really nicely for us.

Nail.  Hammer.  Hit.

I do use the term and clip loves hearing it.  In thinking on it, I believe I've used it a high majority of the folks that even are just play partners and it has been well received.

Hisprettybaby -> RE: "Good Boy" (9/26/2011 11:16:40 AM)

I normally say "Thank you" but, if I had a sub that liked to hear "Good boy," I'd use it when appropriate. On the other hand, when Daddy says "Good girl" I get all giddy happy. lol

I find 'good boy' patronising. Which is why I like it from the right woman.

Pfft. It's a tickle. Fun.

tiggerspoohbear -> RE: "Good Boy" (9/26/2011 12:34:34 PM)

Not worth my time or effort to argue or say something to another who never got it, doesn't get it, and never will get it.  So my posts to the said party are done with!  See?  I can be a "good girl", when I decide to be.   [8D]
