While I agree the idea isnt a good one, im not so sure the Teamsters are going to let this affect them. Obama was ready to roll back in March. Hoffa was stating his support for Obama as late as September.

Im just not seeing the angst from them.

No, He has a name... use it properly. It wont cost you anything... not even your pride.

Yeah pops the unions will jump from the Democrats to that famous friend of the working man...the Republican party.....and what the fuck while we are making bullshit predictions why don't we also predict that you will get laid tonight [:D]

tazzygirl -> RE: Occupy the 2012 election (10/23/2011 2:40:56 PM)

Now why would I need that? Hoffa was on Meet the Press back in september.

Rich, why are you so afraid suddenly? Did the fact that OWS didn't fizzle out as you expected and is now a far more important political movement than the tea party ever was make you afraid for your hopelessly out dated political movement?

LOL, Ken! Afraid??? Where are you dreaming that up from? More important political movement? Show me a 63-64 seat swing in an election to back that laughable assertion.

Fizzle? It's certainly a possibilty for them, especially as the weather turns cold, or if even one or two outposts take a turn towards violence, but they could just easily come together behind some sort of articulate leadership, or, much more likely in my opinion, become as completely co-opted, then ass-raped, as the anti-war protesters were in the '06 cycle. I don't have expectations about them. I'm watching.

Dom, if you noticed in other posts I support the OWS I just think they should be on K Street in Washington and in front of the capital building.
I think it's a good thing when people protest against the govt.and big corporations.
If they were here I'd be out with them a few hours every day.
Mike,.....it just so happens.....

tazzygirl -> RE: Occupy the 2012 election (10/23/2011 3:08:23 PM)

Im watching too, Rich. I do believe that if the cold weather drives them off the streets, the movement will simply move indoors until the weather breaks.

Tazzy, that was then this is now.
You can't tell me that Hoffa is "in favor" of letting Mexican trucks into this country.

tazzygirl -> RE: Occupy the 2012 election (10/23/2011 3:09:37 PM)

I think the upset they are causing is exactly the upset they intended, pops. Want to get attention in this country, go after the wallets.

The mexican truck story was back in Feb, pops.

That interview was from September.

Mike, the problem is that Oblunder isn't a Democrat, he's a  D.I.N.O.
He doesn't play golf with Teamsters he plays golf with CEOs. One of his big buddies is General Electric CEO Jeffry Imelt.
If he "cared" about Teamsters he wouldn't have let Mexican truckers into the country.
The Teamsters are famous for punishing anyone who crosses them!
You can't continue to make enemies and expect to get re-elected can you?
You're rearranging deck chairs.

tazzygirl -> RE: Occupy the 2012 election (10/23/2011 3:24:53 PM)

Do you really have so much trouble spelling "Obama"?

slvemike4u -> RE: Occupy the 2012 election (10/23/2011 3:25:10 PM)

Pops I'm sorry,I try to like you...I really do but you make it extremely hard to do so.The Presidents name is Obama...he occupies the same office as Washington,Adams,Jefferson,Lincoln,Wilson,FDR,Truman, Kennedy and yes even Taft.
Try to remember that.......you really do diminish yourself with this childish behavior .

slvemike4u -> RE: Occupy the 2012 election (10/23/2011 3:28:39 PM)

That would be a vertical move...as far as the maturity meter is concerned [:@]

Don't kill the messenger.
He said a LOT of things that I just can't put in here.

I was referring to the "Oblunder" aspect, pop. Honestly, arent you past the school boy name changes yet?

Tazzy, ok, should I start calling him, "The Chimp?"

I'll be watching the Boston Herald next year to see the Teamster endorsement; "Local 25 Teamsters endorse Romney/Cain."
And that will happen all over the country!
"Chimp angers truckers loses endorcement."
If you're running for office you don't want the Teamsters against you!

Even if the rank and file abandon Obama, you will never see a GOP endorsement from Teamsters leadership.
