So how well do we know each other around here? Or think we know each other?

The idea is to write four statements about yourself, unusual things about yourself or incredible things that you have done (I’m presuming that CM people have had interesting enough lives to accomplish this ). The catch is that only three of the statements are true, one is false. Can you spot the lie?

Okay, me first:

1. I once appeared in the background of a McDonalds’ commercial.

2. I spent my childhood summers in Cuba and still visit there frequently.

3. During my cab driving days, I once got laid in lieu of a fare.

4. During my cab driving days I once had Jack Nicholson as a passenger (great tipper).

Too early for answers (but I will reveal all in due time, I promise) but I'd like to see your own truths and lie.

Okay here is my own list. Who can spot the lie?

1) I once worked for the National PTA, (as paid staff) and had the opportunity to met Ronald & Nancy Reagan.

2) When I lived in the French Quarter (over thirty years ago), I worked as an exotic dancer.

3) My 23 year old body is famous. Famous as in an extremely well known and respected painter immortalized me (nude, of course).

4) Way back in my hippy dippy days I was part owner of a head shop.

Sorry, I forgot to spot Marc's lie. I think it's #1, I don't think it was a MacDonald's commercial.

I am going with 1 for Marc and 4 for Chatte.

My four:

1) After high school I turned down a job as a commercial actor for a local coffee shop.

2) I was born in Germany and came back to the states with My parents when I was four.

3) My "dream job" is a fictional writer and I am trying to get My first book published.

4) When I flew to New Orleans in 2010, I flew first classs for the first time.

Okay, here are my answers:

1. True. I was six years old when they filmed the commercial on farm land owned by my uncle. They set it up to look like a country fair and bused in school children to play the games. I got in, of course, because of my family connections. They shot all day but in the end used only a few seconds of footage in the commercial. I can be seen for all of half a second, watching some other kids play the dart game (throwing darts at balloons). It was part of a montage of kids having a great time before they cap the day by going to Mickey Ds’. That half second is the extent of my acting career (not counting the second grade Christmas play in which I portrayed Rudolph). The irony is that today I loathe McDonalds’ food and haven’t eaten there – literally! – in at least fifteen years.

Note: I have searched and searched and searched Youtube for a clip in vain. There must be hundreds of McDonalds’ commercials on Youtube except mine. But it did happen.

2. True… but, of course, I’m not talking about the island nation but about the small town in New York.

3. False. Sadly, it never happened. I did get a blow job in exchange for a fare once (by a hot young thing ironically named Chastity), but never intercourse.

4. True. I had just dropped off a fair at a hotel when the doorman flagged me over and said he had a fare that needed to get to the airport right away. I spent a couple of minutes occasionally looking at him in the mirror wondering if he was who I thought he was. I didn’t say anything but he must have been used to curious expressions like mine because he smiled and told me that he yes, he was Jack Nicholson. A little nervous I told him that I had broke the rules by picking him up because I was out of my territory (we could drop off outside our territory but not pick up). He just laughed and in that Jack Nicholson way of his said: “Well, son, rules are made to be broken, aren’t they? Especially the stupid ones.” When I dropped him off he tipped me fifty bucks. FIFTY BUCKS! ON A $5.50 FARE! He was already one of my favorite actors, now he always will be.

haha ^_^ very cool, Marc!
(and every Chastity that i've ever known has been anything but chaste, and nearly always the complete and utter opposite... i wonder why? =p)
Jack Nicholson always seemed like he would be a really cool guy if you ever met him. Super cool that you did! ^_^

i haven't thought up mine, yet. trying to think of a good lie. =p

I think #1 is a lie for Chatte, and #3 is a lie for Rex.

I going with TRUE. You strike me as a hard working, go getter type.

quote:

2) When I lived in the French Quarter (over thirty years ago), I worked as an exotic dancer.

At first I was going to say true but I've decided this is the FALSE one. You may be kinky but I can't see you as someone putting on a show for horney men (you seem the type to demand that they put on a show for you ).

quote:

3) My 23 year old body is famous. Famous as in an extremely well known and respected painter immortalized me (nude, of course).

TRUE. I have no trouble believing this. I know many artists and they would positively drool over the prospect of painting you.

quote:

4) Way back in my hippy dippy days I was part owner of a head shop.

My first thought was that this would be the false one but I've decided it was TRU. Many of us have had our hippy dippy days after all. Some of us still do.

FALSE. Who would turn down a job like that?

TRUE. Mom and/or dad were in the army.

TRUE. We are all aspiriring writers.

4) When I flew to New Orleans in 2010, I flew first classs for the first time.

TRUE... but I can't come up with a clever quip about it right now.

I've noticed that too. It seems that anyone who names their daughter Chastity is setting themselves up for disapointment.

I agree with Marc, I think Rex's number 1 is false.

I will reveal the truth and the lies when Lilly gets her list in. I want a shot at her !!

I've noticed that too.I think names are really important. Much more so than people think, although I guess that statement makes this a thread hijack as opposed to a mere bump.

Naw. My thread, my rules! Well, within the parameters of the TOS of course. ETA: this, of course, is a total suck up statement.

It has been my observation that people mold themselves to their names and their names to them. I think it was Jerry Seinfeld who warned parents not to name their sons Jeeves - unless you want them to grow up to be a butler.

OMG I would so agree with that.I have a younger sister (actually she's the baby) named MELBA.

Yeah, I know, my parents had five girls and ran out of names I guess. Anyway, she is totally unique. She's well, a Melba.

You don't meet a Melba every day.

Here are My answers.

4) True, it was the first time I flew first class. I bought the round trip ticket quite a few months in advance and was able to get a great deal on first class, so I went with it.

3) True about the writing. I am working on what should be the final edits on a book that I wrote.

2) False. I was born in Arizona and haven't been to Germany, yet.

1) True. I did turn down the chance at doing the commercial. The filming was going to be during the same time I was going to be in California for My cousiins wedding.

1). I have stood on the world's largest wine cask. (12,500 Gallons).

2). I have swam (swum?) with dolphins.

3). My stupid human trick: I can turn my tongue upside-down.

4). I have been to 3 continents.

I bet Chatte's #4 is false. I don't doubt the hippy part though!!

ETA:

I agree names are very important. I dabble with numerology, and people's names do fit them.

I think LO was NOT his class valedictorian.
