The difference I see is this: I started this thread because I was surprised that in 2010-11 there were significant amounts of women who felt bad enough about their vagina's appearance to undergo surgery. The key point for me being that they had internalized these feelings. These are women who by definition live in an culture significantly advanced to have such procedures available yet they still made this choice. I saw that as being remarkable. I still see it as remarkable and a failure on the part of the men they have encountered.
