Ok.  We'll see if it has legs.

You do know, that you are the reason for the post and thread.

I'll tie it in during "the reveal".  [:)]

Well hopefully it won't enjoy a long fucking ride like "liberal" has under stewardship of fair-minded individuals like yourself.

Hiya, Stern!

I'm particularly interested in your take on the OP questions.

1 I know already

2 Since I already know who it is,I know their leanings

3 I agree with what the person says....but I know several on here that are going to have a fit for agreeing with this person.

Termyn8or -> RE: Can You Guess Without Googling? (11/18/2011 1:11:38 PM)

"1. Don't look,"

OK. I didn't even look at any responses yet.

"2. What are the writer's political position on the "left-right" spectrum "

Believe it or not I have no idea of this left/right shit because I simply do not see it that way. They taught you all how to see, they didn't teach me. The author is likely a libertarian or something similar, or a communist. Seriously, the only people who think this rent-a-goverrnment shit is any good are the people who rent it. They could be from almost any wavelength on the political spectrum but I would estimate that their learnings are older, and that therefore they are also older. That usually means conserative.

I am going to address #3 now and get back to what I wanted to say.

"3. Do you basically agree with the person?"

Very much so. Men who govern should not be selfish. The unselfish rarely steal. And when they move money around into the hands of their friends that is stealing. People with rich friends will get rich, believe me. As a result we don't get lowest bidder quality, we get less than that for top buck. The money is going to the wrong places.

But back to it. If I were an elected official I would make public every transaction, except for personal products. Any cars, property, anything, and any bribes. And when I took a bribe I would announce it on TV and tell people what the briber wants me to do. They say it will help the local economy, should we do it ?

Instead of "The state is going to give a million in tax breaks to this company that is going to build a factory here", it would be "They gave me ten grand and they gave five grand a piece to Dave, George........." and they want.......... Just get upfront about it.

You know in a way, the highest moral ground in this country lies not in what bribes are taken, but what bribes are refused.

T^T

Yanno, Adolph Hitler said a thing or two I agree with, but looking at the overall picture he and I don't see eye to eye on enough issues (and I expect there are several others out here that see it the same).

W once said, "I'm the decider."  (couldnt argue the premise in the contrary at that time, and wouldn't want to), but he was a iconic turdswallow in every other respect.

Nice speech. How does the "author" do extemporaneously?

The author very privately tried to contact OWS last week and was laughed off the phone because this person contacted who they THOUGHT was in charge of "The, you know, Movement".
I'm actually surprised Jon Stewart hasn't gotten this. The approach was the source of flood uproarious of emails last Friday on the OWS Communications Security List.

This by the way is meant to get on the coattails of a desperate attempt for Scott Brown and a group of  "We are so fucking gone" republicans who have just put out a bill that he claims will stop "insider trading" but is sufficiently vague to not get most all that excited. But it'll look good when Scott brown is walking down Atlantic street with his compromised Occupy Redsox shirt on shouting "who's bad? The one percent" next spring... Of course he's alienated so many Massachusetts voters by not responding to his constituency, that it's really just a matter if they'll be painting "Elizabeth" or "Marisa" on his door in January of 2013

Hey, I was very careful to not drop hints!

Or are you referring to our support for Elizabeth Warren?

I think more interesting than the person who said it will be that most here...right left or center... will identify the speaker with their own leanings (except those who cheat and look).

That's true.

1) didn't google it but had already read it

2) Assuming you mean the byline and not the ghostwriter who actually did the writing, so far right she can't walk straight.

3) I think you left out some very important passages. But on the general point of reducing money's influence on Congress and Congress abiding by the rules set for the rest of us, I'm in favor.

BTW I knew this piece of filth was sure to poke her head up sometime soon. She has been out of the news about as long as her ego could tolerate.

Also, no one else reads the WSJ?

See my earlier message... it's basically co-opting come too late... Just like Scott Brown's way too late attempt to save his candidacy.
I OF COURSE agree with large parts of the sentiment, particularly since they come directly out of OUR GAs (forgive me for seeming nonplussed but, this very discussion has come up once a week at a minimum during GAs and we're now suddenly hearing about it from Scott Brown after seeing a 60 minutes piece inspired by a conversation between Steve Kroft and OWSers not too long after the movement started.
So yeah, I think transparency and a real law with real teeth that reaches out further than the Brown bill does would be a nice idea. And Yeah, I think the new speech writer your talking head has hired is MUCH more articulate.

Been googling around and there is nothing anywhere about her hiring a writer so I'm thinking it was a freelancer paid under a nondisclose.

Sure IT'S MY MOVEMENT'S HIJACKED IDEA... What else is the 'author' going to "borrow". Bus parts?

Compare the wording in the speeches... it's self evident. Either that or someone has been taking extension courses at the local university in ENGLISH.
