I got 2 cats last week....1 is really old (I told the cat place I'd take the 1 or 2 cats no one else wanted).....1 is really young......they think 5 - 7. The old one has found a heater, near a shelf...and that's her spot (no matter what I do to convince her of the contrary)....the young one has been chomping at the bit, staring out the window....ready to leap if I'd just....... So, tonight....I'd left the heat on in the house (earlier), fully cranked (it was supposed to be very cold today) and when I got home, it was baking. So I opened the window in my office....(no screen....dumb ass me)...young guy moves to the window, and before I can grab him....he's on the fucking run. Motherfucker. I go running outside....flashlight....to no avail. I was out there for a while. So I do what I can do.....I leave the window open. Two fucking hours later he appears....through my office window. Just pops in like "how ya doin'?" 2 fucking hours...brand new gawwwdamned cat. I chased him all over the motherfucking house, finally cornered him....gave him the "you MAJORLY FUCKED UP" speech.....gave him a big hug and a kiss and then fed him some tuna. Yeah, I know....I caved....I'm a fucking wimp....I admit it.

Awww... I'm glad he had the sense to come back, and you loved him for it. Can't blame kritters for out mistakes. Hope he forgives you for the talkin' to you gave him!

Bubba does that, he'll sneak up behind me when I open the door and bolts! I just let him go, I couldn't catch him anyway. He comes back when he's hungry of course, sits right in front of the front door. When he does something destructive I open a can of cat food just enough so he can smell it and leave it on the floor. (must be the sadist in me!)

I have three. We just moved into a new apartment, and the first thing they did was climb on top of the filthy kitchen cabinets. Took me a week to clean the goo off of them.

The female cat I rescued from impending murder from an ex friends household (she was in fear of getting killed by the huge ginger tom that lived there, as he'd already nearly ripped one of her legs off in a previous attack) had kittens 18 months ago and I ended up keeping two of them, both boys. I've had them all neutered now, but the ginger one keeps trying to escape every time the back door gets opened and I just have to keep telling him that he wouldn't survive 5 minutes out there, as the one's he'd meet would rip him a new one, but all I get is the 'you meanie' look. I can handle that, though, as he's technically the eldest's cat, and very naughty, so he gets told off enough, so I'm immune to it now. Silly pussy... [8D]

My big guy LOVES to go out with his dog. Whenever I call the dog to take him outside the cat comes tearing from wherever he was and stands in front of the door so I either have to step over him or let him out. In nice weather he just follows the dog around, eats some grass, chases the occasional bug, then plops down and enjoys the fresh air. In foul weather he declines any and all invitations for a walk.
