When I was talking with her today Lafayettelady, what you are saying about cluster migraines is what it sounds like she is having one headache that is actually the same one that she never got rid of. Are there any natural remedies that might help or is prescription the only way to go?

Here's what works for me, keeping in mind that my migraines are mostly hormonal and are worse when under stress. I usually have at least one per month and I have categorized them into 4 different levels.

1) I cut back on the caffeine intake. I have a cup of coffee in the morning and a diet coke at lunch. That's it. Too much caffeine and too little caffeine raises the incident rate.

2) I take 500mg of Feverfew everyday. They look like rabbit turds and taste just about as bad....but they've worked wonders as a preventative for me.

3) When a migraine starts, I take 2 tylenol, an espresso and reduce the amount of light. This usually puts an abrupt end to migraines that are my levels 1 and 2.

4) When number 3 doesn't work, it's time for the prescription medication.

For me, Tylenol is about as useful as PEZ candies. Depending on what level the pain has reached, coffee can help or make things worse, although I can't imagine there ever being a bad time for esspresso or a Dunkin Donuts Carmel Swirl Latte, lol.

Years ago, my doctor went through all kinds of meds. Then we discovered that if I catch it early enough, 1000mg of Ibuprofen, wait 20 minutes, then stand in a hot shower for as long as I can letting the water beat on my head (alternating between my eyes and the nape of my neck) and then laying down will usually take care of it.

The others I find quite humorous, thanks for the laugh.

I find it humorous too when an asshole is called an asshole,  a cunt is called a cunt,  a douchebag is called a douchebag---it always makes me smile when people label correctly and accordingly.

On another note--I have suffered migraines too---not often maybe once every couple years and when I get one I must get to the ER and get meds---once the migraine has ceased all I can do is sleep.

Like most types of pain, fighting it is exhausting.

I have one warning: don't just give her pain meds or follow anyone's home remedies. They may not work for her and if she is as unlucky as I was she may end up overdosing from trying to many people's ideas at once.I was a very desperate teenager when it happened but I just really wanted to get rid of the damn migrane. I used to get them all the time and one day my friend said try this and when it didn't help I tryed something else. I ended up face planting and waking up a few hours later. Everyone thought I was just taking a nap in the hallway so I'm lucky nothing worse happened. Did I mention we were stupid teenagers? Anyway I think she should visit a doctor before taking anything, even over the counter stuff. I have a friend who is on a migraine diet. Her meds completely destroy her and nearly got her kicked out of school so she mostly sticks to the diet. It has decreased the frequency of her migraines.

Your just plain mean, you must had never suffered pain
as bad as she has it m, my pain is so bad i just do not know
what to do but just sit until it passes it is pain that is everyday and
night!  I must live with it, how could you be so mean as not to see '
that she is not playing a game!  this is why she is trying so hard
to please you, she know she has a major problem that may
send her away from you, she should not come back! You do
not deserve her!  Shame on you !!!!!

MariaB -> RE: Slave under consideration (11/30/2011 3:30:33 AM)

I suffered cluster migraines for over ten years but then was diagnosed celiac. Since I have been on a totally gluten free diet. I read up on why celiac's often suffer from cluster migraines and they say its to do with not being able to properly absorb iron or vitamin B12. It may be a good idea for her to have her vitamin levels checked.

The other thing I was thinking was, migraines tend to put you to bed. I know it would be absolutely impossible for me to do anything once a migraine has got hold. My friend on the other hand suffers from whats called 'cluster headaches'. The pain is so bad that he cries out and even bangs his head on the wall but he says, he can't lay down and has to pace or do something whilst he is suffering. For years he was treated for migraines but now he has been properly diagnosed he is given pure oxygen during his headache spells.

I agree with those who say, she needs to be checked out and properly diagnosed. Migraines and cluster headaches can have an underlying cause.

Uh...gee, since I'm not the one considering her, wanna explain what you are talking about responding to me?

Topamax is frequently called "Dope-amax" in the medical community due to it's very common side effect of impairing ones ability to think clearly and communicate. My son was on it for a couple of months and was unable to even put a sentence together to speak. If these two are ANNOYED at she sighs, they will never be able to tolerate the side effects of Topamax.

Kirate, you have twisted my meaning, and taken my statement out of context and applied it to something completely different.

This entire issue has become a TARBABY!

And here is where it is very individual: I had no bad side effects (at least not for over a year and turning me stupid was never one of them).
I am not on a very high dose either: I only take 50 mg twice a day.

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Slave under consideration (11/30/2011 5:58:07 AM)

LL - mons wwas probably using the fast reply box on a page (like pg 7) where your post was last. Fast reply will post that as a reply to whoever that last person is. I do that sometimes, and forget to write "FR."

BLAH BLAH BLAH

It has all been said. And it all comes down to the SLAVE NEEDS TO SEE A DOCTOR for HEADACHES!!! The people who think they are Dom/Domme need to SEE A PSYCHIATRIST for NPD!

End the freaking thread already!

tazzygirl -> RE: Slave under consideration (11/30/2011 6:56:50 AM)

Katherine, I agree, all this has been said, and was said before your first post to this thread. If you wish to see an end to the thread, then stop returning to it.

LL, I agree with Lilly. Its hard to know sometimes who someone is responding too.

A shout-out for Excedrin, which is a combo of acetaminophen, aspirin, and caffeine. Not as yummy as an espresso, but definitely more portable. And it works for me.

I'm highly allergic to aspirin, so no Excedrin for me.

Imitrex is also great for some, sucky for others.
Imitrex does nothing for me except make me feel like there are bugs under my skin. My best friend swears by it.

Migraines are a very odd thing because they're so individual. There can be so many triggers and so many different types. Most of us that have something that works, have gone through trial and error before we found that something. Everyone is so different and reacts differently.

So, really she needs to go to the DR to get a diagnosis and to get a label for her migraine. Then she needs to figure what works to alleviate her migraine before it gets to the prescription stage and it's going to be a lot of misses with a few hits.

Have had a slave with us for the past 14 days. She has gone back home for a few day. She is willing to do just about anything to please us and is learning her routine quickly and without much correcting. However there is a problem. She suffers from debilitating migraines and when she gets one, she still does what she is told to do, but when she is on a task. she is winching and sighing as she does her work and this really annoys us. Does anyone have any suggestions about when she is like this how to handle it?

Shoot her? Seriously, i would suggest more patience and empathy, if you really want this to work. Even a slave has needs. At the same time, you may want to examine whether you both can handle a slave with disabilities.

Katherine wants to have the last word. For some reason she believes her insight is more profound.

I agree with you on the form of her posts. Nobody here should have to shout and throb and glow to get noticed. Opinions should stand on their own. I wonder if the poster bothered to investigate the forum culture before she started her tirade. Punctuation, like ? and ! and ... all can give important clues as to emotional content of written works. No need to constantly bold or cap or colorize.

tazzygirl -> RE: Slave under consideration (11/30/2011 1:39:53 PM)

I dont mind colors. LP's posts are always a delight to read. Cynthia is in a soft blue and she comes up with some insightful stuff. Others also posts in colors... but its all one color. An occasional bold for emphasis is ok with me too.

But when the font is as huge as an oak.. or it goes from 9 to 1 then back to 9 again.... ugh. My eyes are bad enough!

~I hope I did successfully convey my annoyance with the exclamation mark~

CalifChick -> RE: Slave under consideration (11/30/2011 2:13:56 PM)

I think I might be siding with the sadist mentioned early on. It appears to me that this may be a very passive-aggressive way of getting what you want. First, it doesn't appear the slave really knows what is wrong with her. Cluster headaches and cluster migraines are not the same thing. I would be very surprised if any sort of migraine would improve with impact play. A tension headache (which cluster headaches are usually made up of), on the other hand, may very well respond to this.

So instead of saying, "Master, I feel a bad headache coming on and experience tells me these are best dealt with by impact play, would you mind if we did that for a bit to see if it helps and then I can get back to my chores?"... she sighs and moans and continues the chores.

That would annoy the fuck out of me, but I would beat her for not being direct and coming to me with both the problem AND the solution (since she had a solution) and I certainly wouldn't put up with it for two weeks, then send her home and ask other people what to do.

Good thing I'm not a dominant.

Cali

I was pretty sure that is what she was doing as well, but to be honest, half the time I can't figure out what she is saying at all, so I figured I would check to be sure.
