I just Googled "profitable cam sex sites". Lots of info, much of it scams. Caveat emptor. May I ask why you, upon deciding you want to run your own business, decided on a webcam site? The competition's likely to be fierce. At 46, you should have considerable life experience - what in it is marketable?

Honestly, it depends. What are you trying to do to make the money you want to make? Do you want to perform on cam? Hire others to perform on cam? Set up your own cam site? Do you want a tube site? Your first post is too vague. What do you want to do?

I actually got spanked on camera thinking the money was going to roll in... HA... NOT... The video I made sold for $5.00 of which I got $1.50, but did not receive any money until the sales reached $100.00.. Not quite a scam, but close. The only good thing that came out of the experience was that I discovered another way for this masochist to receive a different form of pleasure pain!!! So maybe it was worth it!!!

Photography and/or video? Selling pic sets of girls (make sure you're 2257 compliant) especially if you have an angle. (fetish pics are my preference due to the characters I set up and play and have my girls play) I also think you make the most money for fetish related things.

The thing is, its a very niche market. If you are talking just sex cam sites then there is a lot of business but within our demographic of the BDSM scene, its such a small proportion of the porn industry, I think you would be very lucky to make a big success of such a niche site. Private commissions, making specialist porn can be lucrative but you have to make a name for yourself before people will approach you. You need a USP and that would have to be something very special if you want to compete with the big boys. It would depend on how much money you have to invest, how much knowledge you already have of the porn industry and how the intricacies of it all work. It would be easier to give you advice if we knew what it is you are actually looking to do. There are so many avenues and you haven't said what avenue of cam porn you want to go down?

You have it here. These sites are all considered part of the porn industry and for that you need a fairly narrow niche like 'Worshiping Daddy' or 'Daddy's harem' something like that. But I knew a cam girl who just stripped, played with herself live on cam viewed via a credit card and a good month was $800.

Hmmmm thank you your \very helpful . what avenues are there could you expand on that thought.. I am trying to get a overview and at the same time stay away from scams. My thought initially was a BD/SM type website where i could do use the ceb cam to drive traffic to my own website where i could sell videos, and provide other sevices. such as online training programs.. Your thoughts?

Webcam sites are quite profitable. But you have to want to put in the work. I dont mean just getting on cam, fucking yourself, and calling it a day. There is ACTUAL work that goes into it. And in the end, if you are busting your hump to promote your site, and get it out into the ether, and provide QUALITY material, you can make some good money. I am not sure that some of the pre-established sites would allow you to drive traffic from their site to your own. I think most prefer that it stays in house, but I dont know the rules of EVERY site out there.

OP, what kind of training programs are you thinking of offering? I'm not sure that will work for you (or anyone) Go Daddy isn't very adult friendly. I like Host Gator. You could actually work with pre-established sites and set yourself up as a studio and just get a percentage of what the girls who sign up under you make. But most ladies now know that they can sign up directly with the cam sites and not give away a percentage to so-called studios.

Its not about setting up the site. You can do that with an off the shelf application. Finding the girls may prove to be problematic because these girls are already established with the top sites who are giving them a huge amount of advertising space. The stipulations on most of these sites is that those girls do not use other sites and because of those stipulations those girls go for the sites that are going to bring in the most revenue. The hosting costs a lot of money because of the amount of band width being used. The only way I can see you getting off the ground is to charge the girls very little for the band width which means your margins are going to be very small, at least until you are very well established. Normally a client will join the site and set up an account. Once he has chosen his woman he will pay by credit card on a minute basis or until he puts his phone down.

Okay, Goodfella, let me be blunt. The Internet used to be a wild place where people made fortunes overnight. That ended about eleven years ago. Even porn, which is one of the few niches where little people can make a living, is a pretty mature industry. It's being run by businesspeople. They can analyze a plan and see where the weak and strong points are. They know what the costs should be, what the revenues should be. They have an idea how to differentiate themselves from the rest of the market, how to attract customers, how to get camgirls. Fella, go write a business plan. Include in it what your expenses will be, and what your revenues are projected to be. How you will provide a product people will pay for. How you'll pay your performers. What the "hook" will be that influences a prospective customer to pay. Month by month, and assume you'll be operating at a loss for a while. Right now, you've got an idea that you're going to strike gold in a played-out field, and no research to back you up. You've placed an ad in an inappropriate place, and if any women were to respond, you aren't able to give them a job for several weeks if not months. Think it through.
