Answering for myself.....no,I'm not blaming the police,but I am decrying a society that finds itself so helpless to control the rampant prolifiration of guns that we must now shoot down the children that wield them .[:o]

I just saw this on the news. The kid had a PELLET gun....hardly a lethal weapon.

Did the police have any way of knowing that? Do you think they should have waited until he shot at a couple of kids to see if the bullets were dangerous first?

At 15.... sad... but hardly tragic. I cant think of a single 15 year old who wouldnt know that if you point a gun at cops, they will shoot.

Sorry tazzy ,but that is why it is tragic...and I daresay that the officer who was forced to fire the shot just might agree with me.

I sympathize with the cop... I would imagine very few want to shoot anyone. Tragic to me would be the kid who got shot after putting down a gun.

I don't know Tazzy...tragic to me is anytime a 15 year old leaves his house to go off to school.....and doesn't make it back.

Most usually present SOME position on what they're posting about -- and not just "sharing".

So, okay... then as already stated, it sucks big time -- I think all are sympathetic to a child being injured/killed.
