Hey, popeye, she owns that many restaurants?  She must be rich.  The government should take away 8 of them and give them to "more deserving" homeless people, so they can "share the wealth" as well.

It only seems fair, yanno.

Yes,

A combination of things.  Including the good luck not to get caught
during her "wild youth".  I am sure that being sent to jail or prison
at a young age would have changed this story. 

It is great to see that she eventually used her energy and determination
to go in a positive direction.

She had a lot of adversity to overcome and also that she is a woman in a man's domain, Chef/owner.
Plus all the hell that goes with starting your own business! Tremendous obstacles.
