kalikshama -> Best supplement form of Vitamin D (1/8/2012 7:59:35 AM)
|
In October, I tested just barely deficient for Vitamin D. Now that I'm in Massachusetts and not spending time on South Florida's nude beach, I need to find other sources of Vitamin D than sunlight. I see that it comes in tablets, capsules, softgels, liquid, spray and cod liver oil [:'(] Does anyone have a recommendation for the best form of supplement to use? I've found that this can make a difference - for melatonin, sublingual is definitely more effective for me. Regarding dietary sources, I don't drink milk or eat cereal and it appears that I would have to eat salmon several times a day every day to get enough that way. To further confuse the issue, daily intake recommendation range from 200 IU to 5,000. I think I'll go for 1,000 - 2,000 as recommended by this researcher: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/07/27/health/27brod.html Thanks! KK
