The following questions comes from the fact that my entire kink history has been private experience (yes I seem to naturally attract women who want to be tied up and abused). I've never really initiated contact with a BDSM community, and so I'm curious to share a few things and see whether they stick to the ceiling.

1) I take the majority of my pleasure in the BDSM spectrum from designing, building, and implementing creative and controlling/humiliating methods of restraint, be it furniture, rope-systems, etc. I don't really care for giving or receiving pain at all, only taking and relinquishing control, and in the aesthetics of the restrained female form. Is this unusual?

2) I have absolutely no attachment to a dominant or submissive role. I suppose my controlling/directing instincts grew out of my desire to manifest my submissive fantasies for others, and so in some strange way I might be considered primarily submissive at heart, though I tend to always find myself playing a dominant role, merely because the fantasies of others are just not creative enough to hold me fascination for long. Is this unusual?

3) Whiskey, I find it delicious. Strange?

It's not uncommon that people interested in bondage don't have much interest in s & m, and vice versa. And yes, The Man feels the same. He thinks of the ropes as paint, my body as the canvas and him as the artist.

There's a fair bit of sensation play as well, but after 9 years together I would have expected to have experimented some. Nothing seriously painful though.

First off, this is the least used forum on the site. There's nothing in this question that couldn't have been posed in General BDSM which gets a lot more interest.

Secondly, there are a lot more s & m types here then us bondage freaks.

Third; I hope you aren't drinking and playing.

I only bottom for bondage, and you had better not try ANY DAMN THING besides tying me. Lots of riggers in my town, they RIG. Some of them do it with the intention of other stuff, but most of them get off on the rope.

Riggers, interesting, this is what I was looking for, rigging, imaging. I posted this question in the switch forum simply because I wanted to know what the switch-forum specific people would say.

being a switch or, alternately not actually having any preference to D/s at all but rather just the kinky activities isn't uncommon. My 'thing' is definitely in power exchange but I've had partners who like kink sans any form of power exchange at all. It's all in what you like, always remember to spend more time enjoying it than analyzing it.
