OR, they could use the quote feature to reply what they want to reply to, and skip all the inbetween stuff. Nobody says that you ZOMG!!!! HAVE TO READ EVERY WORD OF EVERY POST!!!!

Skimming posts gets me through quite a few threads fairly quickly, because I use my brain, reading skills, and common sense to determine what I find worth reading.

Off topic remarks can be reported. You have that power. You don't like it, do something about it. However, off topic posts do not a clique make. Snark... doesn't indicate a clique. Agreement in something doesn't make a clique. You want to infer that some posters that followed my comment are part of a clique... so would I be in that clique as well? What is the difference between some people's snark and your own? Are you a part of a clique?

Your point cannot be made simply by this. Regular posters of all sorts could follow this post. Would you care to state what a clique is or what constitutes a clique? Disagreement or agreement with some? Off topic posts? You are indicating these things and snark are what defines a clique.

Because regulars post often times around a thread gaining attention because of the scroll, etc. doesn't mean that every snark or off topic comment or even one that agrees or disagrees, is part of a clique.

You sound angry.

Oh right, mooooommy!

Course, when you start with a 15 page thread an after you edit out all the off topic comments, it's only three pages, you might be tempted to just delete the whole thread, and of course that means anybody who has taken the time and effort to discuss the actual topic has their posts deleted as well.

So it goes.

Look, it's all there, I see no reason to keep repeating it, you don't see a problem, don't keep bangin' your drum, I see it, others see it - what? You're gonna argue me out of what I see with my own eyes? These ain't the droids I'm looking for? Lol.

I have not insulted you and I would prefer you not try to insult me. I am not mommy... I wasn't even mommy to my kids. I was mom or mama and buddy, I ain't your mama. I see a lot of things around here and a lot I don't like. Hell, I might even say or do something, I later look at and think maybe I shouldn't have gone there.

Complaining and adding your own snark and whine isn't going to change anything. I made some suggestions and I take it you didn't like them and think that complaining and pointing fingers and then trying to be insulting with me is the way to go. I see you doing the same thing you are accusing others of doing.

If you wish to discuss this like an adult, I will be more than happy to do so. If not, I will simply do what I have the power to do... ignore, block, report or move on. I need not prove anything to you, nor you to me, if that could even happen. However, I do think your complaints in many threads would be better served with effective management.

Talking about the mods, lokit, I think they probably have better things to do than babysit a bunch of kids, I'm loathe to take up their time with a bunch of complaints, be a lot easier if people could just grow the fuck up.

And it is exactly my complaint that there's nothing left to do after a certain point but snark back because any attempt at on topic discussion is impossible due to the sheer volume of trolling and name calling - I mean seriously, go read that slaves talking back thread, there are like pages and pages in row, solid blocks of nothing but a bunch of morons babbling at each other and abusing the OP - what is the deal with that? I've never seen that in ask a sub before, when did that become SOP?

Snark is not against the TOS, or the mods would never sleep - what I'm saying is there's a diff between making one snarky comment, and page after page of tag team abuse, but it seems that there's a few people in here who like to put words in other peoples mouths.

Didn't start out as a crusade at all, till I innocently posted in thread that this little bunch had camped out in and decided belonged to them, and I've been having to fob off passes from the little trolls ever since.

Fact is, it's over as far as I know, until they decide they want to start up again, dead horse till then, and I'm tired of beatin' on it, if you don't see a problem then quit worrying about it and telling me I shouldn't see it either.

So, don't dish it out if you can't take it, 'cause the snark flows both ways.

Thank you xssve, I am not sure I have time for a nineteen page thread, but I will try to take a look at it to see your point. I have seen a lot of things go haywire around here and one report at the start, if there is a mod around, could turn things around. I don't know, but I do know that sometimes I have gone into a thread and changed the tone of it by what I say. I am not the only one. I have seen very many do it over the years.

You do have a good point. I am not arguing that. I am only saying that it is ineffective once we become so angry or frustrated over repeated situations. I don't think cliques are as frequent around here as many may think, but that is my personal observation and opinion. I think there are many other reasons for what we see here. There are fewer solutions I bet, but I do think that we can handle things... try to change things effectively or walk before a complaint will actually do anything unless that complaint is made with someone that has the power to really do something about it.
