No, I have read your posts over time, though, and you don't sound like your usual self-in-posting-mode. Maybe you were a snarky bitch all along? In which case, welcome!
It's not my default mode no, I find it to be an obstacle to communication more often than not, but I'm not snark handicapped.

If three or four people notice that you suddenly sound different then perhaps you are indeed sounding differently.

Now how can I say we are, when I said agreement doesn't make a clique? lol Now... on the other hand... if you want to form a new clique called the cute butts clique and I get to be leader, call the shots and enforce the rules... I am all for it! ROFL... I think you are due for some enforcement!

I was once a lurker for quite some time. It allowed me to get a feel for the

the ability to read here without having to sign in. I wonder how things
would change here if signing in were mandatory?

I think it would be fantastic if every member were to enjoy every
feature of this site, I don't necessarily see it as a negative that they don't.

poise,

I agree it would be great if there was a cross between users of the chat and forums. Often when I visit a room and someone in chat partisipates it would be helpful to see what that person was all about by refering to forum comments.

Thanks for your thoughts.

CP, I've been dragged into VidChat by some friends. There is a fair amount of sprightly conversation there, and the people I talk to have no interest in the forums. Possibly because they like the real-time interaction of the room.

Personally, I don't have time for using this site for all it offers. I used to split my time between chat and the forums, but found the forums more to my taste, though I did love the instant connection in conversations that chats can provide. I do want other interest in life and this aspect of my life can only have so much time. It is easier for me to do the forums because I can clean house, work on things I need to work on and pop in, where in a chat it seems to be more time consuming. I can't keep up with email, even with friends and they get lost in that bottomless pit, but my time needs to be used well and my escape from life during my breaks is spent on the boards or other endeavors in life.

Holy motherofchrist, you're STILL sobbing over that thread, like 3 days later? Do you want to print it out and mail everyone a copy?

I mean seriously, go read that slaves talking back thread, there are like pages and pages in row, solid blocks of nothing but a bunch of morons babbling at each other and abusing the OP - what is the deal with that? I've never seen that in ask a sub before, when did that become SOP?

I'm sorry xssve, by page four, I would have eaten the dude myself.
Yeah, well, perhaps, you're entitled to make that call, the question itself interested me more than the person who asked it possibly, but after page 4 or 5, it's pretty much nonstop snark.

And, while you're perfectly entitled to tell the OP what you think of him, or her, within the bounds of the TOS, if you haven't managed to make an impression in One or Two posts, I don't see where Sixty more in the same vein is going to be any more productive.

It's your time, waste it all you want, but when it gets to the point that if anybody else wants to say anything, it's lost in all the noise, then you're wasting everybody else's time. You might get one on topic post in three or four pages of drivel, and nobody wants to read through all that just to find something besides ad hominem and recipes for fattening deserts - we have forums for those things, politics and religion for the former, and this one here, off topic, for things that are, uh - off topic - and, there are chat rooms for chattering at each other, polls and random stupidity for random stupidity, etc.

So, it's not like there's no place for it, the topic forums are for the topics they're named after, and message boards generally, although usually you get little side things here and there, are for discussing one particular topic at a time, with space provided for more than a sound byte or a quip if you are so inclined, a chance to express yourself at length on a given topic, not just to drag your off topic discussion into and continue like you're not doing anything unusual.

I shouldn't even have to explain it, pretty much the same thing going on in every other forum on the interweb, and none of 'em put up with that kind of spamming and harassment for long. There are links to netiquette guidelines in the FAQ if you care to look.

Anyway, I responded directly to the OP without reading the whole thread, at the risk of being redundant because I didn't want to wade through all that to see if anybody else said it first, I was pretty sure from page one how it was gonna go, and got jumped left and right, even got accused of stalking somebody I hadn't even addressed a post to or knew was looking at that thread, very odd and disturbing, snark isn't against the TOS, as I've said, but harassment is.

You can call that whining if you want, but I didn't go there to get into a pissing contest, like I'm supposed to know they're all in there just waiting for me or whatever, and if that was signalling some kind of new trend, I have every intention of nipping that motherfucker in the bud.

I'm saying that in the years I've been here, I've seen many a flame war, many a thread hijacked, but I've never seen what looks like a crowd of people go around apparently deliberately harassing people and hijacking threads, and if it seems to some people like I'm being out of character it might be because I'm seeing something I don't usually see - I don't like it, it's annoying and it's against the TOS for reasons that ought to be patently obvious, but nobody seems to want to admit to it - "man up"?

Lol, haven't seen so much rationalization and projection since the last election cycle, and I've no doubt this will only generate more of it, "who - me"? Rules are for everybody else, and blah, blah, yadda, yadda.

So, I appreciate your peacemaking efforts Lokit, I've stated my reasoning, haven't changed my mind, not going to be talked into seeing something different, not going to roll over for anybody, and I really don't care if anybody thinks it's out of character or not.

It's not, and now everybody knows, deal with it - I call 'em like I see 'em, and I'm gonna call a troll a troll - you might be seeing a lot more of the new me - then again, maybe I'm a goddamn sock puppet too, who knows.

I haven't commented on a change in you.

I would advise putting your concerns in writing to the mods. We all have seen a good thread go bad for whatever reasons, but we do have a tool to use. Whether we use it or not is up to us. The mods have even asked us to report things we see because they can't be everywhere and see everything. I don't know if anything would be done in a given situation, but it would be worth trying rather than to get upset about it all.

As for that thread... the guy was a lying joke. No attorney would be so foolish, lack so much and play the hard-line game that op was doing. As for people coming after you, I would consider emailing them as that has always worked for me and things typically got worked out one on one. If I didn't care to work it out... I just dealt with whatever it was and went on about my life. While I love these boards and this site... I sure as hell wouldn't let it make me so upset that I would let it effect me. I might suggest something to the site about a change I thought helpful or otherwise deal with a thread within the thread or something, but to get mad and stay mad... wouldn't be an option for me. I would rather walk and find another place to do whatever it was I was wanting to do online.

To each their own... your way is clearly not my way. I do hope you can find some resolution to it all.

Yeah, well, that's your privilege, to each their own, I'm in no mood to back down at the moment, still a few topics going that interest me.

@OP I kinda come and go, if there's some interesting discussions going on I'll participate, learn things sometimes, if not, there's about a half a dozen other sites I can go to, and I might lay out for months at a time, depending, but I usually wander back in here eventually to see what's poppin'. The level of conversation in here is usually pretty decent, been in some very good threads over the years that helped me to crystallize my thinking on various subjects - always a few with their needle stuck, but that's true of everywhere.

Pretty much. To take that furthur, since observing CM and the forums since 2005, I've found there are four groups in CM in order of size.

1) The majority of CM members who know of the forum but ignore it.

2) The members who lurk for whatever reason without posting. I suspect for the entertainment provided by group 4 when HBO has nothing good on.

3) THe members who post then leave or post only every once in awhile then give up and become semi-permanent members of the second group. That would be me.

4) The permanent fixtures. These are members who have posted here for years and years, post on the average of once every waking hour, some more, and can be identified because they seem to run from one thread to the other and their average posting rate per day or week or year cannot be believed. They seem to feel they own a particular segement of the forums and usually get their kicks by ganging up on a "new" male Dom or when lacking them even a new female submissive. They derail threads usually about the second page of postings since it too that much time for them to discover the new thread. They rarely post on Friday and Saturday nights because that would let everyone know they are at home. They are the reason the forums are not used by groups 1, 2 and mostly three. They tend to use strange icons or pictures that clearly are not real for their postings because, well, you can guess why.

Arturas,,

Tho your post was directed to DH, I would add a 5th group. Those that post but not on a regular basis and will always take the time to reply to posts directed to them.

i have never found a good/active chatroom here, which is a real shame since i honesty believe more people deserve the chance to get to know me better in as many media as possible.
