I haz one. [:D]

Besides trading it in for a Hobart, what would you do with yours? (I'm just fishing for ideas here...)

I bought the meat grinder attachment and grind make my own pork sausage patties and meat loaf mix. I also bake bread so use it to help mix/knead the dough.

Is it the meat grinder in this assortment? I read some reviews that said some metal shavings were getting into the meat. [:'(]

searching4mysir -> RE: Kitchenaid Professional Series Stand Mixer (2/9/2012 6:25:25 AM)

It looks similar but I've never had a problem with it.

xxblushesxx -> RE: Kitchenaid Professional Series Stand Mixer (2/9/2012 6:25:30 AM)

Yeah, those are nice, but I didn't get the artisan one I got this one! [:D]

If you move this thread to the General BDSM forum, you'll get more intriguing answers.  [8D]

I used to have the Artisan, but it broke just before Thanksgiving (when I was baking a ton of bread). We ordered it at a really good price from Macys on Cyber Monday and had it by Friday.

This is the one I got KitchenAid KP26M1XACS Stand Mixer, Architect 6 Qt. Bowl-Lift

Hmmm....I suppose it's always good to get a variety of responses.
*wonders how you can perv up a stand mixer*

Here is my baby......the Kitchenaid Pro 600!!!

And shit, the file is too large and I don't have photo editing software on my computer at work.

Here is a link to Amazon's listing for it. http://www.amazon.com/KitchenAid-KP26M1XNP-Professional-6-Quart-Nickel/dp/B0002Y5X9W/ref=sr_1_5?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1328801444&sr=1-5

It is in Copper Pearl and just lovely. I just like to sit it out and admire it!

I don't have a lot of the attachments because many of them got some pretty bad reviews. Not to mention, you can usually get a really good grinder for a lot less, as well as a good pasta machine for less, etc etc etc......than the Kitchenaid attachments. I tend to stick with actual mixer uses.

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Kitchenaid Professional Series Stand Mixer (2/9/2012 7:45:16 AM)

Is this the one with all the attachments for bread and pasta and and and?????

Maaan... jealous! ^_^

I've had the meat grinder and pasta machine accessories for years and both work very well. I don't make huge batches of pasta or ground meat/sausage so maybe it's an issue with how well they do in heavy use.

LaTigresse -> RE: Kitchenaid Professional Series Stand Mixer (2/9/2012 9:17:52 AM)

Ken I am not sure. I considered getting some of the attachments, did some research first because of the price. Once I weighed a lot of the negative reviews against the prices both of the expensive Kitchenaid attachments and the cost of individual items I already KNEW would work well, I decided to skip buying the additional gizmos for the mixer. The only three things I wanted was the grinder, some of the food processor things and pasta attachments. I got all three quality items individually, for less than Kitchenaid pasta roller set. Win win for me.

xxblushesxx -> RE: Kitchenaid Professional Series Stand Mixer (2/9/2012 10:27:03 AM)

Soooo...whatcha been doing with it?  [:D][:D]

LaTigresse -> RE: Kitchenaid Professional Series Stand Mixer (2/9/2012 11:43:59 AM)

Wellllllllllllll........it's gotten less use than I would like so far but here are a few things I've used it for. I got it just before Christmas.

Several batches of banana bread.
Pumpkin bread.
Apple pecan bread.
Chocolate chip cookies several times.
Oatmeal cookies.
Honey Whole Wheat bread several times.
Italian type bread.
Pumpkin pie filling 2-3 times.
Chocolate crinkle cookies
A cookie I don't remember the name of.
Several batches of pasta dough.
Egg noodle dough.
Whipped cream.

That's all I can remember at the moment.

Those things are the basis for an array of fuck machines... Lot's of potential for perversion

DesFIP -> RE: Kitchenaid Professional Series Stand Mixer (2/9/2012 3:08:04 PM)

Mine is the older one, just in gray, with metal gearing though. It can handle over three pounds of dough which the new, plastic geared ones, will burn out on.

I don't have a sausage grinder. But I bought an extra bowl first thing. For cakes, it's so much easier to have a clean bowl to beat egg whites in.

And I have the fruit & vegetable strainer for apple butter since I can't face dealing with my mother in law's 40 year old food mill ever again. I just don't have the strength to push the screens into place.

AttitudyJudy -> RE: Kitchenaid Professional Series Stand Mixer (2/9/2012 3:12:42 PM)

Ooooh, I want one of those so bad. And someday I shall have one.

Along with the Rachael Ray ceramic cookware line, the Bubble & Broils, in all the pretty colors.

AND, the new Singer Futura 4-in-1 sewing/quilting/serging/embroidery machine. Damn HSN.

For me its a space thing. I only have a smallish apartment kitchen so having lots of gadgets is out of the question. My counter and storage space simply can't handle more than a fod processor, blender, crock pot toaster, coffee maker and stand mixer. As it is to use the mixer I have to shuffle the other stuff around.

DesFIP mentioned buying an extra bowl, can't recommend this enough. It makes where you need to mix stuff with fats in it and then whip whites or making a cake batter and then whipping cream for a frosting so much easier.
