Okay....I like hair...on me.

However, there does (currently) seem to be a slight "lack" in that area....read on.

When I was about 29 or 31 or so (at least several weeks ago or more) I noticed a small little thin spot in the back...no big....lots of guys get a thin spot back there....never paid much attention to it....it got a little thinner as I grew (a smidge) older, then there was one day (it seemed like it was "one day") a rather significant patch left "beholding" on the top of my hayud.

As I got my haircuts over the years, naturally I told the barber...."leave that section a little long, would you?" (that would be the section up top that seemed daily to have limited and fleeting affection for me).

I always had long hair, and today, from the top down...it's all there.....from that point up....well....it's found a new friend....my shower drain.

I like hair.

About 7 years ago I decided I was going to "do it" (you know what I'm talking about) and I was sooooooooo excited, I must have called a dozen people. "Going in on Monday" (this was Thursday....I'd paid the whole bill....12 grand).

I didn't sleep a wink, but I was excited....literally I spent the entire night Thursday thinking about having hair again (I like hair). Didn't sleep.

Then, Friday, a bit of a wreck, still excited, I tell the whole office (it's not like they don't know....."oh....fuck....did you know he's bald on top????")....I make it through the day, barely....ready to go home and crash....maybe even sleep the whole weekend....get ready for Monday. But I couldn't.

Then I start thinking "what if I get all this done and THEN.....I start losing hair BELOW THAT line????" (Wouldn't that be attractive?).

Then I start thinking about my Grampa's hair when he was 70 or so. My hair (on the sides and the back) is like a garden....bush thick....on the top....you can bounce radio signals off it)....so my Grampa's hair....if I recall correctly (and I was probably 6 or 7 at the time) I think he had 11 hairs (entirely) and....I've seen that "smile" (scar) on the back of men's hayuds when they do the deed.....and I started thinking...."FUCK!!!!! If I do this...there ain't NO going back!". ....and I panicked, and canceled the deal. Didn't sleep the entire weekend THROUGH Sunday until I heard from the hair place that they'd received my (37 panicked) phone messages.

Now....7 plus years later I'm thinking....if it's gonna fall out....it would have happened by now so....it's either now or never.

So....here's my question (and no....I don't have any issues as to being bald, any more than I have issues with wearing suits or jeans but if I had a choice....I'd wear a suit {even though I mostly wear jeans} and....I like hair....so, this isn't a bit about trying to recapture my youth....it's about hair...I like it, I like combing it and I like {having had} it).

I miss it.

With all that said....here's my question:

I can afford it....without batting an eye....apparently "the smile" issue (on the back of my hayud) has been resolved by some brilliant science guy and there's no "corn row" thing anymore either....they put it in all catywompus so it looks like baby Jesus planted it for you.

Should I do this and spend shitloads of money or....should I take advantage of the lack of technology in some rural areas and rent out my fore hayud to Motorola for $37.93 a month as a repeater for 1 way signals until they resolve that problem and just live with my shiny fore hayud?

I bow to your comments.

This is a tough call, JJ. I love bald guys. More than short hair on a man...do not like.

Speaking personally, as a chick who's lost a tremendous amount of hair, I would totally do it if it would work. (Most women are not candidates).

I think you should come over and let me hump your head. Or hit on CalifChick, you can trust her head humping skills.

if it was me in that place I'd go for getting the hair. I'm vain that way though and have absolutely no problems with using surgeries for such things.

Okay.....

1 for shaving and convenience.

1 for fucking my bald head and making it as wet as a monsoon in Hawaii

1 for doing it.

(This is not helping folks....and by the way...the middle option looks REALLY fucking good to me!)

I've seen a commercial, fairly recently, where they "highlight" two ladies who have had the hair replacement and it looks pretty good (from the advert's photos, obviously). If you like, I will try to remember which scamm ... errr ... company is airing the commercial (I'm sure they have a website).

I was sort of joking in my first response to the OP but, seriously, I don't think I've ever seen anyone that's admitted to having such a procedure where their head looks completely natural.

I've particularly noticed that there's a tendency for the implanted hair to be awfully curly (whether by design to help hide the baldness better or because the chutes in which the follicles are placed are "stripping" the outter coating of the follicle, I am not sure). That's fine, if one has curly or wavey hair but to see a man with "trusses" on the top of their head and pencil straight hair the rest of the way down is a dead give-away.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

It does look good, Michael, but it doesn't last unless the woman has pattern baldness as opposed to allover thinning.

What if you make this huge investment for that tiny little shiny spot and it looks stooopid.
Would you rather have a shiny spot, or have less money and look stooopid?

I think that little shiny spot needs to be made to feel special, so I'd go for option B.
Head humping from LadyHib and Cali is the 8th wonder of the world!

Oh. You're speaking of alopecia (or however the hell it's spelled)? Yeah, I don't know about that. I haven't looked into hair replacement in quite some time. At some point, I guess I became less vain. My hair has been thinning since I was 19 but it has been so gradual (and I shaved my head for 11 years) that I still am not ready for what I consider to be a drastic procedure such as hair replacement.

I have found myself paying more attention to Rogaine© commercials, though.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

I think it will make you very happy and you should do it. : )  (and HM has a "spot" and I'm perfectly ok with that, but if it would make him as happy as I think it will make you to "do it", then I would encourage him to do so.)

"Grass don't grow on a busy street"? (When I was younger, an older balding guy said this one to me and almost without missing a beat, I said: "It don't grow on concrete, either")

"Too many U-Turns under the sheets"?

Peace and comfort,

Michael

Grass don't grow on a rolling rock.

Not sure what that means but...I'm sticking with "my brains are pushing out my hair".

Which, now that I think about it....having a brain the size of a small universe....makes some sense.
