SEATTLE -- African men who underwent circumcision not only reduced their risk of contracting HIV infection, they also were significantly less likely to be infected with herpes simplex virus-2 (HSV-2) – also known as genital herpes, researchers reported here.

Among uncircumcised men in the 15-to-49 age group, HSV-2 prevalence was 30.8% compared with a 17.1% prevalence among circumcised men (P<0.001), said Bertran Auvert, MD, professor of public health at the University of Versailles outside Paris, who reported on results from two surveys involving more than 4,500 participants.

Can't link the study because I read it ages ago, but it also lessens HPV and thus cervical cancer and some other cancers.

Yes, circumcision does reduce the risk of infection by sexually transmitted diseases.

The question is: do you want your progeny to be more like animals who will stick their dicks in any hole they see, whatever the gender or species of the hole, and who will murder females, or would you rather that they be cognitive beings who are as far removed from the animal status as possible and who will protect your future female descendants?

Look here: I have got a herpes virus and due to this my health is far from good. In fact, though my 88 year old mom is in a very bad shape these past weeks I have been considering that I might die before she does.

I am all for curing people that have sexually transmitted diseases. However, mostly only lust driven animals contract such diseases. Such people ought to limit their progeny in order to improve the stock.

By circumcising their male offspring such populations play false and they ultimately pay the penalty for doing so: whereas non-circumcising populations are on an evolutionary fast track to becoming populations of civilized, gentle beings, circumcising populations are evolutionarily stagnant and in contrast devolve into uncivilized, cruel populations of animals.

I urge everybody to not choose the easy road of the circumcising cowards. If you are a lust driven animal, then limit your progeny. If you are a lust driven animal, it is far better for your population that you reap the consequences of your actions and that you get ill and ultimately die when you become infected by a sexually transmitted disease. Be a hero and do not circumcise.

I heard about this some while ago. The gist of it was that the skin of the foreskin is designed such that it'll carry germs at express rates to the immune system. Fine, if we're talking of the common or garden kind of infection - not so fine if we're talking of the HIV, of course. But I'm not sure that the difference between circumcised and uncircumcised men is all that vast either re contracting HIV or HSV-2:

After seeing what my teenage then nephew went through from being uncircumcised, I'm all for circumcision. He ended up with one infection after another and all kinds of problems that the doctors told him to be circumcised to help him heal and reduce the infections. The poor boy...circumcised as a teenager. But he hasn't had any problems in that area since then.

That confers a very significant reproductive advantage - and that is the trap! Do not be sucked in by this trap. Anyone who is seduced by this short term apparent benefit will harm the long term health of the gene pool of their population.

Well, than I bet that the foreskin seal was broken before his penis had matured. Anyhow, a bit of infection is normal and easily dealt with and will in ordinary behavior not recur. So, likely his infections were due to ignorance among his relatives.
